STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Mackey Estate (Crumlin EPC) is governed by the will ofAndrew Park Mackej dated 21, December 1989.
Registration with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland was completed on 15, December 2020.
The Trustees of the Mackey Eslate are the elders and deacon5 of Cruin liii EPC, and are therefore appoiiited b
means of elder and deacon elections, voted foT by Ihe membership of Crumlin EPC, and in line with tlie procedures
and requirements of the Evanoelical Presbyterian Church.
All Trnstees give of their lime freely and no Trustee remuneration was paid during the year. There are cutTently
nine Trustees who have overall responsibility for ihe charity and its govemance. During the year two Triisiee
me¢lings were held.
DESCRIPTION AND PIIRPOSE
The charitable purpose is that the funds are lo be used by Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church for the work
il carries on as the Elders and Deacons Board Ihereot for the lime beinuy shall in their absolute discretion decide
appropriate.
ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES
The Mackey Estate is used to suppon the work of Crlbmlin Evangelical PresbyteTian Church, both by he5ping to
facilitate the local minisrry of the church, and also by sending financial help to partner churLh¢s and inission
organisations as needs arise.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The Mackey Estale continues to provide for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Crumlin EPC buildings
and all services related lo the mainteT)ance of church property, such as gra55 cuttino cleaning, and general repairs.
The estate also provide5 funding for the heating and lightiiig of the buildino in order to facilitate the weekly Church
service5 and other ministries taking place in (hL church building throughoui the week.
Income to the Mackey Estate during 2022 came from three main sources.. the collection of ground rent, the rent
that accrued fron] the agricultural land that is rented out and also income from investments. The Trustee5 of the
Mackey Estate meet with a financial advisor on an annual basls in order to be updated on the invesments and
receive relevant advice for how to manage funds responsibly.
Durino 2022, the freehold interest in resideniial property was sold. bringing in the sum of £21,961 (£24,000 less
disposal fees of £2,039).
Throughout 2022, the trustees rnet on 4 occasions to discuss the work of the Mackey Estate. In addition to the
money that was used to help facilitate the work of the church at Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the
Mackey Estate was also able to help support some mission pann¢rs, with £8,000 beino sent in total to promote
the work of International Mission to Jewish People, The Christian Insiitute. Frontiers Irelan(L UFM Worldwide
and the European Mission Fellowship.
The Trustees have had reg￿d to the Charity Commission's Public Benefit requtrement.

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are Ihe encouragement of participation in beneficial activities
witbin our own community in Crumlin and ihrougliout the world. resuliing in improved spiriiual wellbeing? and a
oreater knowled0¢ of the Christian faith, a5 well a5 the practical outworking of Ihis in the lives of those reached.
These benefits aTe evidenced by the nu]nerous church building projects that the Mackey Estate has helped to fund
not only in Crumlin but througyhout Ireland and across ihe world, and the benefils that result froin these Mrorlcs as
tbey bring positive influence to their commiinilies. Locally. Ihe Mackey Estate is used io facilitate the upkeep of
the church premises in Crurnlin, and promore the minisiry of th¢ church. These benefits are also evidenced by
reports that we re¢eive from those we have helped, and also independent evaluaiion of what is being doi]¢ by
othei-s. Wlien considering which works to support, care Is taken 10 ensure thai there is no harm iii doin(3 so, and
thai the money is used to bring needed help. Beneficiarie5 of the Mackey Estate are any who are helped through
the ministry of Crumlin Evantselical Presbyterian Church. or any of Ihe other works to which we have biiveT]
support. There is no private benefii flowingy from the pury)ose of the Mackey Estsie.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
In the year ended 31" December 2022 Ihe charity had iotal income of £6,877 compared with £1 0,027 in Ihe
previous year.
Total expenditure increased from £42,826 in 2021 (0 £71,178 in 2022.
During the year the freehold interest in residential property was sold generating proceeds before fees of £24,000.
At the end of the period the charity had net 85sets of £2.607,952 including cash at bank of £35,689.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPO]YSIBILITIES
The Trnstees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements of the charity in
ac¢ordance with applicable law and generally accepted accounting praciice.
As the ¢harity' S total in¢ome does not exceed £250,000, the Trustees hav¢ elected under Section 64(3) of the
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 208 to prepare a receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and
liabilities.
The Trnstees are responsible for keeping adequale accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
harity'5 transaction.5 and disclose wilh reasonable accuracy ai any time its financial position. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for tsking reasonable steps for the prevenlion and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.

5. TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS
The tangible fLxed a55ets of the Charity comprise of 42 acres of agricultural land at £6iO:000.
Details of historical costs are not available with the land being included in the balance sheet at a current market Viiluation
estimaied by the Trustees. No depreciation has beeii provided on these assets. This is reviewed on an annual basis by the Tiustees.
6. INTANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS
The intangible fixed assets of the Charity comprised of freehold inieresi in resideTltl<11 Iiouses at Laurelvale, Crumlin.
Details of historical costs were not available. These were sold by the Charity during th¢ year-end for proceeds before disposal
fees of £24,000. The legal and professional fees incurred in ￿sOciation wilh the sale of Ihe5e w¢re £2,0)9.

external professional valuations. Any gains are used by the Charity for charilable purposes Lherefore no lax is due on the
