## **Carickmore Thursday Afternoon Club** 

## **Annual General Meeting** 

## **Thursday 30 May 2024 at 2.00pm in The Patrician Hall, Carrickmore** 

**Present:** Bridget Tierney, Teresa Kelly, Kathleen Daly,  Maura Dobbs, Bridie O’Neill, Nancy Coyle, Vera Donnelly, Mary Begley, May Gormley, Bernie McCullagh, Muriel Smith, Dolores McKenna, Bernie McKernan. 

**Apologies:** Rose Law, Rose Kelly, Margaret McElhone, Margaret Donaghy and Eileen McElduff. 

**In attendance:** Alison Forbes SWAP 

## **Welcome and Apologies** 

Apologies were noted as above.  Mary Begley welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced Alison Forbes from SWAP who chaired the meeting. 

## **Previous Minutes** 

The minutes from the AGM held on ?????2023 were presented by Teresa Kelly.  These were agreed as a true and accurate account of the meeting.  Proposed and agreed by all present. 

## **Treasurers Reporting** 

The Treasurer, Teresa Kelly, presented the accounts for the year.  The total income for the year was £737.10 with expenditure at £1,358.05, leaving a closing balance of £360.27. The Club also received grants of £270 from SWAP and £250 from FODC.  These do not appear in the accounts as the invoices are paid directly by SWAP.  An application for funding of £1000 has been made to Spar 

## **Consideration and Adoption of Accounts** 

The account were accepted by all present.  Proposed by Dolores McKenna and seconded by Muriel Smith.  The accounts were therefore adopted by the meeting. 

## **Secretary Reporting** 

Kathleen Daly, as secretary, presented the secretaries report.  The  club met on 23 Thursdays during the year with activities including Bingo, Dancing, Exercise, Speakers, Make-up Class, Cancer and Health Talk, Music, Children’s School Party and a Card Making Class.  The annual holidays were held in Westport, Co Mayo. 

## **Election of Trustees** 

The following members agreed to put their names forward as Trustees:-

These 13 Trustees were agreed and accepted as Trustees by all present.  The Election of the above Trustees was adopted by the meeting. 



## **Election of Officers** 

Teresa Kelly Treasurer and Kathleen Daly Secretary were returned to the positions of Treasurer and Secretary.  Mary Begley was proposed as Chairperson, there were no other nominations and Mary accepted the nomination.  Proposed by Bridie O’Neill and seconded by Nancy Coyle. 

## **Any Other Business** 

After discussion it was agreed that an annual membership fee of £5 per annum be charged.  A new flyer/hand out will be developed by the Club to help promote our services and to increase membership.  A suggestion box for ideas and general issues to be established was proposed and agreed.  A Facebook page will be developed. It was also agreed that the current Banking situation be reviewed as the charges are quite high for the small amount of trading we undertake. 

The work carried out by Teresa Kelly and Kathleen Daly throughout the past year was acknowledge and both ladies were thanked for their time and hard work. 

Mary Begley thanked Alison Forbes for her Chairing the meeting. And thanked everyone for attending. 

The meeting concluded at 4.00pm.
