THE MUSLIM ASSOCIATION OF NEWRY Northern Ireland Charity number: NIC107868 The Muslim Association of Newry is established for the benefit of Muslim families in Newry & Mourne and surrounding areas of Co Down and Co Armagh. The Muslim community has gradually increased in the area and there is pressing need to support the social, cultural and religious needs of the community. The association support and promotc the welfare of Muslim families, providing education Cspecially to childrcn and religious guidanc¢ to families. The Association also extend help and support to Muslims who are new immigrants to this area and to those who are inmates of prisons. The Association also hopes to providc help and Chaplaincy support to any Muslim patients who may be sick/ill in the community or in hospitals in the arca. The Association hopes to raise funds for charity to support variety of organisations and individuals in the community. The Association has been involved in activities JA'ith cross cultural and interfaith links for promotion of religious, social and cultural harmony and integration. The Association hope to hold events, lectures, fund raising activities, with other communities. The Association has been involved in visiting schools in the areffj to promote better understanding of IslaTn in schools, by holding lectures and discussions.
