Galbally Friends Fund Annual General Meeting Secretary's Report 20" May2026 Committee Members: Paddy Begley (Fundraising Off icer) PauLine Bowman (Assistant Secretary) Fergal KeLly (PR & Advertising) Katrina Loughran (Joint Chairperson) Plunkett Mccrory (Fundraising Officer} Roisin McNulty (Secretary & Joint Chairperson) Francis Mcveigh (Treasurer) Introduction Welcome everyone to the Annual General Meeting for Galbally Friends Fund. 202512026 has been another busy year for the group thankfully, with the group profile being raised through a variety of fundraisers, as well as internal promotions in the past year. The group have met on 13 occasions in this period. At these meetings we signed off applications. agreed support for fundraisers as well as meeting with families and groups who had recently donated funds. We also met with the recently appointed parish priest, Fr Slater. We wanted to convey to Fr Slater the aims
and objectives of Galbally Friends Fund within the local community, and to seek advice from him as to the support the local clergy can give to the group. Since our last AGM held on 21st May 2025 up to today's date, we have supported 7 applications as well as 3 Christmas payments. Activities Our first donation on 27105125 came from a group of residents in a care home that Paddy was working in at that time. This donation was for £150.00. A donation was made by The Kerr FamiLy on 25107125. following a fundraiser in memory of their mother and wife, Anne. They kindly donated £2000 .00 to the charity. Craig from Peak Fitness ran a very successful fundraiser on 2nd August 2025 and raised the amount of £6,589.00. A donation of £1.000 was donated by a Local parishioner on 03108125. Lettie Donnellyvery kindly raised £1,120 for Galbally Friends th Fund, by asking for donations in lieu of gifts for her 90 birthday. Lettie met with the group on 16th December 2025 to present this donation. We received a donation of £1,000 from a local businessman in Lieu of Christmas presents. We as a committee, are eternally grateful to all who contributed to GalbaLly Friends Fund in this period, and we are delighted to
know that the charity is receiving such solid support from our community. On 17h December 2025. the group launched its own awareness video. This had been the group's ambition for severalyears, and this video encapsulated the aims and objectives of the charity perfectly. The video was launched on all social media platforms and was widely viewed and shared across alL outlets. We have no doubt that this video raised the group's profiLe and its aims. I wouLd Like to take this opportunity to thank our committee member Paddy Begieyfor the massive undertaking of putting this together. Also. thanks to the production team. actors and the scriptwriters for their professional approach and last but by no means least, thanks to Paddy's family for allowingthe recording to take place in their home. We are very grateful to you all for this fantastic production. As weLI as the video. we continued to raise and promote the group through social media. We had 26 Posts on Facebook and 8 posts on Instagram in this period. Aims & Objectives Our aims and objectives for 202612027 remain the same as on previous years. We will continue to support our local community with funds raised by the community. We will actively support the group's promotion and raise its awareness when possible.
