Firstly I would like to welcome everyone here this evening. l am the
secretary for Galbally Friends Fund and I will give a brief introduction
and a quick outline of what we, as a committee have been doing
since our last annual general meeting, which was held on 2nd May
2023.
So I will start this evening by introducing the current committee and
what role each member has. The committee is made up as follows:
Paddy Begley (Fundraising Officer)
Pauline Bowman (Assistant Secretary)
Fergal Kelly (PR & Advertising)
Katrina Loughran {Joint Chairperson)
Plunkett Mccrory (Fundraising Officer)
Roisin McNulty (Joint Chairperson, Secretary)
Francis Mcveigh (Treasurer)
So, the main aim of Galbally friends Fund is to support the local
community, as defined by the townlands outlined in our Trust Deeds,
by means of financial assistance. In this reporting year, there were S

beneficiaries, each receiving payment of £2000.00, as well as
receiving a Christmas payment also. However, I payment was
processed very late in the last financial year, and this beneficiary will
be included in the accounts for 2024-2025 period.
The group met as a committee on 12 occasions in the past year and
in the past year we received 3 financial donations from within the
parish, one from the local primary school, and two donations from
local businesses.
We continue to reach out to the community through social media
outlets and the parish bulletin. In December we had a very
successful campaign on social media. We received endorsements
from 8 local community groups and this was published on Facebook
on the lead up to Christmas. Application forms continue to be kept
in the foyer of Galbally Community Centre and at the back of Galbally
Chapel. These forms have now been updated to include payment
details for online transfers.
Aims & Objectives for 2024-2025
The main aim of the committee is to continue to keep the group
active within the community and to continue to support those
outlined in group's trust deeds i.e. townlands named. The
committee members are keen to raise the profile of the group within
the community more, and this is something we are working on at
present and hope to develop more in the coming year. We aim to
continue to be as accessible as possible to the entire community.
As always, I would like to thank all the other committee members for
their hard work and dedication to Galbally Friends Fund.
