Enniskillen Light Operatic Minutes of Emergency General Meeting 31[st] January 2025 – 7.00pm Zoom

Financial Report for the Year Ending 30/09/2023
Danielle circulated the accounts attached for the financial year ending 30[th] September 2023 via email yesterday. She noted that these were largely prepared by our former Treasurer John McCrea, and presented by him at the 2023 AGM. She has only tidied and finished them, and prepared the simplified version of accounts for the Charities Commission to post on their website. She asked if there were any questions about the accounts, but nobody present had any.
The committee members present unanimously agreed to approve the accounts. This is supported by a poll in the committee WhatsApp group where all committee members also agreed to approve them. Further to this, Danielle noted that she had also sent the accounts to John McCann who, although he is no longer a Committee Member, remains a Trustee of the society. He has also communicated his approval of the accounts.
The accounts are currently being looked at by an independent accountant for verification. It is hoped that this verification will be completed this week and Danielle will then forward the accounts and accompanying reports to the Charities Commission. She will also update the key information about ELO that the commission holds.
Going forward, Danielle noted that we now need to be registered with the Fundraising Regulator. This should be discussed at the next committee meeting.
Dave proposed a vote of thanks to Danielle for all of the work she has done on this.
Amanda queried when the next set of accounts are due (for the financial year ending 30/09/24). Danielle explained that they can be submitted any time but are due by the 30[th] July this year. Another EGM will be needed to agree these.
