The Charity is an unincorporated association established
under a Constitution. In fulfilling the public bcncfit
requirement, the charity trustees have had regard to the
Charity Commission for Northern Ireland public benefit
guidance.

The purpose of Glendarragh Quilters, Guild is to provide an
organisation that encourages it's members to promote the craft
of quilting for the public benefit of offering inspiration
through regular meetings, workshops and demonstrations. The
infonnation below sets out the activities we have carried out
to further our purposes and to fulfil the public benefit element
during the past year- 1° September 2022 to 31. August 2023.

Our activities do not lead to any harn]. The only private
benefit is that a trustee or family member may participate in
the same manner as other beneficiaries. This is purely
incidental and necessary so that the benefit is available to all
inhabitants of the area.
Glendarragh Quilters moved to the more spacious Colaghty
Church Hall, for meetings from the beginning of November.
The group reconvened on the 20 September 2022 after the
summer break. We met twice monthly.
Geraldine Daly facilitated a workshop in October
Quilting using Scraps. All members participated.
In November the group commenced working on a table
runner. This involved introducing many new skills and pushed
the members to a new level. Due to the extent of difficulty
and large number of new skills involved this project ran
through to the end of March.
Group members worked on personal projects for the final
terni - May- June, with some preparing for the Connecting
Threads Exhibition in November 2023, which was held at the
f Strule Arts Centre.
Throughout the year we had a 'show and tell, at each meeting;
this continued to inspire and encourage others with the variety

of projects completed and on display.
We also made baby quilts for the Neo-natal units in the South
West Acute and Altnagelvin Hospitals.
On the 18 May 2023 we travelled to Sligo on a joint Quilting
Shop Stop with members of Omagh Quilters. It was a
memorable day; not only did we get a chance to meet with the
members of another group, but we were given a
demonstration by Mary, the owner of Craft and Quilters,
Basket in Sligo.
In the financial year we collected fees of £1,155. Wadding
sales gave us £95 and £181 cash in hand (awaiting deposit)
gave us a total income of £1,431,
Expenses consisted of rent - £420 to Ederney Development
Trust and £270 rent to Colaghty Parish Hall. Insurance with
QGBI cost £80, sunthies cost £122 leaving a total of £892 in
expenses.

The charity's finances are in surplus and Accounts have been
prepared to comply with the requirements of The Charity
Commission NI.
An application for Grant Aid (Community and Wellbeing)
towards the cost of an outside tutor was successful. The Letter
of Offer was received on 09/06/2023 and the project/event
must be completed by 31103/2024.
