Holy Family Fundraising Committee
Report of the trustees
for the year ended 31 August 2023
Our school committee is made up of a combination of school staff and parents. The Trustees are also committee members.
The committee continues to strive to provide essential facilities and equipment which support the school and advan¢¢ the
education of the pupils.
Following from the success of the Summer Night - Healy Park event, the Committee were encouraged by the school & local
Cotntnunities support and motivation to raise fvnds to replace interactive whiteboards throughout the hvo school sites.
The importance of ongoing financial support which enables teaching staff to ensure pupil's educational & holistic needs are
met is vital. The committee are mindfijl of the impact of austerity on families and local businesses,, without their support it
would not be possible to ensure pupils are afforded every opportunity to achieve their ￿11 potential.
This yearfs fundraising was supported by the annual Christmas Fayre with the addition this year of a Nearly New" sale for
clothes & toys, the popular 5 week draw, Easter Kid's Qui4 Non-unifonn Fridays following the Easter break and £300 from
the Asda Foundation. The Easy Fundraising" App, continues to provide some revenue, cost free through the raising of
funds tI￿ough e-commerce.
The penultimate event of the year was the school production of Moana. Our s¢nior site pupils showcased their acting &
singing expertise to the school & wider community, over 3 nights and matinee perforn]ances for local schools. Th¢
planning, rehearsing, set building, costume making and much more is a testament to the school staff and pupils enthusiasm
for the Arts as an integral aspect of academic achievement.
The finale of the year was the official opening of the Senior Site Play Trail & Nature Garden. This event was free of charge
with activities (bouncy castles, Balloon modelling, Petting farni, face painting & beat the goalie) for all the family.
Donation tins & raffle tickets were available. Hot food & a Tuck shop and Ice Cream were also available for a small fee.
The weather made for & wonderful night and send off for year 7 pupils.
The Committee have been able to pay for 2 more Whiteboards. In this ever developing digital age it is vital to have access
to modern technology. Upgraded technology, such as new whiteboards and software, supports teachers in the cla55room,
allowing them to connect with students more efficiently and work more effectively. With these advancements, students can
engage in interactive learning, completing online assignments, reducing paper clutter and enabling real-time progress
tracking.
We have also been able to continue OUT Commitment to ensuring swimming lessons for Year 6 pupils and transport to/from
sporting events throughout the year. Beyond academic benefits, extracurricular activities are essential for S￿dentS,
emotional and social development. They offer a break from a¢ademi¢ pressures and provide opportunities to develop
friendships and social skills.
Fundraising within the school cornrnunity has become more than raising money. It has developed into a crncial role in
keeping school pride alive and nurturing connections within the school & wider community. It has brought together
students, teachers, parents, and local community members, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose. Our events are
providing an environment where everyone feels they are contributing to the school's success, which boosts Collective pride
and a sense of belonging. These events have become important opportunities for positive interactions and building stronger
relationships within the school community and raising much needed ￿ndS for our pupils.
Plans for future periods
The fvture fundraising plans of the committee are to support the school to replace & update the current Math Scheme for
Year 4, Replacement Literacy scheme and training for teaching staff, Play resources for the Junior Site, Replace PE
resources on both Sites and the ongoing commitment to swimming lessons and transport tolfrom sporting events and other
school trip's.
