The financial slatements have been prepared rn accordance with the accounting poliues set oul in note 1 to the financial statements and comply with the charity's goveming document. the Ccrfnpanies Act 2006 and "A¢¢ounling and Reporting by Charities.. Ststement of Recommended Pr8clice applicable to Charl￿e5 preparing their a0￿unIS in accordance with the Financial Repo￿n9 Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). (effective 1 January 2019). This do(￿ment has been prepared based on Ihe guKlance prowided by the Chanty CommiSs￿n and Trustees have had regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidan￿. Objectives and activities The Bethany Community Trust was set up by members of the Limavady Communty wilh the objective of building a local communty hall on the slte of a parish hall that was destroyed in a fire in 2009. The site of the Communty Centre lies in an idenlified area of deprivation. Accordingly, the Bethany Trust was able to attract funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Inveslment Fund which operates under the auspices of the -t ro¢¢iv¢d a Department for Communitles ID for C) in Northem I￿land. The application was successful and th¢ Tru- grant of £400.TrJQ towards the ry>st of the buibding. The cost of the build was approximatety £1 million. The Parish of Limavady provided £720.000 with the balance coming from the Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Fund. The build work was completed in 2020 and the charity took delivery of the keys in September 2020. The building was used infrequently over the first tsvo years. The calendar year 2022 was the first year the Bethany Communty Centre was free to open wtthi)ut Covi&19 restriction5. The day to day management of the Communty Centre 15 carried out by a steering group drawn from the different groups using the faciltty. Public benefrt The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the Gharity should undertake.
