1.PRICIPLE ACTIVITIES OF THE CHARITY
Moira Primary PTA is a small group of parents of children who attend the school, the school principal and teacher representatives. In close partnership with the school and staff, the PTA organise various events, activities and fundraisers throughout the academic year. �
Parents are encouraged to take an active part in being part of the school community through their PTA membership and volunteering support, not only the fundraising events but for all the key events in the school calendar. �
Moira Primary PTA helps generate funds to provide educational resources for all areas of the curriculumwhich benefit the educational progress of each learner which would otherwise not be available through direct funding of the school. �
All decisions on how the funds raised by the Moira Primary PTA should be spent are agreed by the PTA Committee, the school principal and teaching staff prior to any purchase being made. The committee meets regularly throughout the academic year and holds a yearly Annual General Meeting where committee members for each year are agreed. �
2.OBJECTIVES
The Charity’s objective is to advance the education of pupils in the school through developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and school community and to engage in activities or provide facilities or equipment which supports the school helping maximising the full potential of each learner to advance the education and wellbeing of the pupils. �

5.HIGHLIGHTS and PERFORMANCE
This year’s charity raising events included a Christmas movie night, Valentines disco, Easter competitions, Break the rules day, a Bingo night, Colour Run and our yearly Summer Fair. Further funds were raised serving beverages at school events and through
selling our branded hats and snoods.�

PTA Purchases 2024/25
New tea/coffee canisters were purchased as well as a new sign for our annual Summer Fair. The PTA also paid for the Promtrophies and the usual yearbook for each of our leaving primary seven pupils. Annual insurance subscription was paid for Parentkind Membership. �
6. FINANCIAL REVIEW
This year the PTA committee along with support fromthe local community and families of the school achieved the following income and profit for the year 2024-2025 �
Income: £25,072.25� Expenses: £5,723.56� Profit: £19,348.69�
Added to the funds brought forward of £34,152.54, this brought total funds available to £53,501.23. Donations to the school to fund the items noted in section 5 above amounted to £934.57, leaving funds carried forward of £52,566.66.�
7.PUBLIC BENEFIT REPORTING
The trustees have had and continue to have regard to the Charity Commissions Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. �
Purpose 1: to advance the education of pupils in the school � The direct benefits which flow fromthis purpose are increase educational progress and encouraged attainment of pupils within the school and links built with the local community. These benefits are evidenced by pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community, which are not available through direct school funding. �
Purpose 2: to improve relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school. �
The direct benefits which flow fromthis purpose include funding for additional resources for the school and links built within the local community. The benefit of these actions is
engagement in parental support leading to prospering relations between school and home and the local community. �
These purposes do not lead to any harmand the benefit is for children at Moira Primary School and Nursery Unit. �
Charity trustees are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. Any benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. �
8.FUTURE PLANS 25/26
The school is looking to install 2 new outdoor sports pitchesand funds raised in this year would help to contribute this development. �
The PTAis hoping to host some new events next year to continue to build our school community ethos.�
The financial statements and reports have been prepared in line with the Northern Ireland Charity Commission guidance, the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2013, the Charities (Account & Reports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and the Charities statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) (FRS102). �
