CHARITABLE PURPOSES

To provide opportunities for Christian worship, prayer, service and learning together. 2. Tocreate a loving, sharing and generous community, welcoming to all.

To share the good news of the Bible, making disciples and helping them to become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.

To work to see lives renewed, relationships restored, and hope created.

To work for the peace and prosperity of Coalisiand and the surrounding area.

To support, encourage and pray for groups and individuals with a vision similar to that of Haven, or those in need.
BENEFICIARIES

The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public of the Coalisland area.
ACTIVITIES
-
Weekly Christian worship meetings each Sunday throughout the year including sung worship, Bible study, prayer and associated activities for children. These took place in Coalisland Cornmill.

Bi-weekly prayer times in the Haven premises — “The Living Room’, in homes and online. 3. Bi-weekly women’s group in homes and online. 4. Other regular social and faith-based events throughout the year, including shared meals, walks, outings and gatherings in homes.

Community events including children’s holiday club, “Bounce” family events, Easter Sunrise Service and Christmas celebration.

Pastoral and practical support, including signposting to other organisations. 7. Supporting other charities with a similar vision financially, in prayer and practically.

ACHIEVEMENTS - HOW MAIN ACTIVITIES HAVE BENEFITED BENEFICIARIES

Regular Sunday meetings and prayer times were attended by 15-20 people each week allowing them to meet with others, to learn, worship and pray together.

Around 30 individuals took part in volunteering opportunities throughout the year, by providing food, helping with one-off events and practically supporting those in need.

Haven financially supported The Niamh Louise Foundation, Hands at Work in Africa UK, Open Doors UK & Mary’s Meals. Haven partnered with the local Mary’s Meals group to run bi-monthly fundraising coffee mornings and to support them in other fundraising events. Various charities and local organisations also made use of The Living Room to meet.

Pastoral and practical support was provided to a number of individuals facing loss, illness and other challenging circumstances through visits, the provision of meals, financial support, prayer and practical help.

Special events also took place throughout the year including a Christmas Celebration, men’s, women’s, family and children’s events, walks, meals, and outings. These events were attended by around 150 different people in total.
The direct benefits which flow from our purposes for individuals include strengthened faith and relationships, increased skills and confidence and reduced isolation and risk. In the wider community, other groups and organisations have been supported and strengthened and Haven has been able to add to good relations by intentionally creating an environment which is welcoming to all sections of the community,

FINANCIAL POSITION
Receipts: £16,649.18 Payments: £6,983.97 Net: £9,665.21 Cash funds at year end: £18,059.58 The charity remains in a strong financial position.
OUTSTANDING DEBTS OR LIABILITIES
There were no debts or outstanding debts or liabilities.
CLOSING FUNDS
The net income for this year was £9,665.21. This was boosted by a large gift aid claim covering several years and a large one-off donation.

STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity's purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
