To provide opportunities for Christian worship, prayer, service and learning together. 2. To create a loving, sharing and generous community, welcoming to all. 3. To share the good news of the Bible, making disciples and helping them to become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. 4. To work to see lives renewed, relationships restored, and hope created. 5. To work for the peace and prosperity of Coalisland and the surrounding area. 6. To support, encourage and pray for groups and individuals with a vision similar to that of Haven, or those in need. ## **BENEFICIARIES** The charity’s beneficiaries are the general public of the Coalisland area. ## **ACTIVITIES** 1. Weekly Christian worship meetings each Sunday throughout the year including sung worship, Bible study, prayer and associated activities for children. These took place in Coalisland Cornmill. 2. Bi-weekly prayer times in the Haven premises – “The Living Room’ 3. Regular social events throughout the year including shared meals, walks, outings and gatherings in homes. 4. Community events including 3 day children’s holiday club, St Patrick’s Day Meal, Easter Sunrise Service and Christmas celebration. 5. Pastoral and practical support, including signposting to other organisations. 6. Supporting other charities with a similar vision financially, in prayer and practically. 7. Hosting wedding ceremonies. 1 ## **ACHIEVEMENTS - HOW MAIN ACTIVITIES HAVE BENEFITED BENEFICIARIES** 1. Regular Sunday meetings and prayer times were attended by around 20 people each week allowing them to meet with others, to learn, worship and pray together. 2. 3 couples were married in ceremonies hosted by Haven leaders. 3. Around 30 individuals took part in volunteering opportunities through the year, by providing food, helping with one-off events, practically supporting those in need. 4. Haven financially supported The Niamh Louise Foundation, Hands at Work in Africa UK, Open Doors UK & Mary’s Meals Community Group. Haven partnered with the local Mary’s Meals group to run bi-monthly fundraising coffee mornings. Various charities and local organisations also made use of The Living Room to meet. 5. Pastoral and practical support was provided to a number of individuals facing loss, illness and other challenging circumstances through visits, the provisional of meals and practical help. 6. Special events also took place throughout the year including a Christmas Celebration, Men’s and Women’s events, Craft mornings for children, walks, meals, and outings. These events were attended by around 180 different people in total. The direct benefits which flow from our purposes for individuals include strengthened faith and relationships, increased skills and confidence and reduced isolation and risk. In the wider community, other groups and organisations have been supported and strengthened and Haven has been able to add to good relations by intentionally creating an environment which is welcoming to all sections of the community, ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** FINANCIAL POSITION Receipts: £6,497 Payments: £7,446 Net: -£949 Cash funds at year end: £8,394 The charity remains in a strong financial position. ## OUTSTANDING DEBTS OR LIABILITIES There were no debts or outstanding debts or liabilities. ## FUNDS IN MATERIAL DEFICIT & STEPS TAKEN TO MITIGATE The net income for this year was £-949. This has been reviewed by the trustees and is not seen as a significant issue due to current available cash funds. However, steps have been put in place to reduce spending in some areas to mitigate against unsafe overspend. FUNDS HELD BY THE CHARITY AS A CUSTODIAN TRUSTEE None ## **RESTRICTIONS ON WHO CAN BENEFIT** There are no restrictions on who can benefit. We do not charge any fees. There are no charges to access any events or services. There are no restrictions based on personal characteristics. ## **PRIVATE BENEFIT** There is no private benefit to any individual. 2 ## **HARM** No harm has flowed from any of our Purposes. ## **SERIOUS INCIDENT REPORTING** There are no serious incidents to report. ## **VULNERABLE BENFICIARIES** Appropriate Policies, Procedures and Training are in place. ## **STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE** In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
