Charity Registration Number 107700.The Playgroup is a non-profit making organisation on where any profits made are used to extend and develop the range of activities offered by the Playgroup. Organisation The Playgroup is administered by a Management Committee. It is registered with the Southern Health & Social Care Trust to provide pre- school education for 26 children on a part time basis. It receives funding for these places under the Department of Education PEAGS Programme. The Playgroup is supported by an Early Years Specialist and Social Services Link Worker. Objectives and activities. Caledon Cross Community Playgroup was started in 1999 by a group of local parents and villagers who identified the need for Playgroup facilities for children in the community. Caledon Playgroup provides a warm, secure, stimulatin& healthy and happy environment where all preschool children can learn through play. The Playgroup works closely with Early Years and the varlous ststutory authorltles to advance pre-school education through the provision of safe and satisfying group Play, the recognitlon of rights of parents/carers to take responsibllfity for Involvement of all activities of the Playgroup, the promotion of the health of the children at all times and lastly to adhere to the values and principles of Early Years. A wide range of activities provides experiences across the whole Early Years. curriculum. (DENI Curriculum Is followed) We expect our staffto ensure that every child matters and activities are planned to cater for every child's needs. This past year the staff have made excellent progress further developing the outdoor area and we appreciate the support we have received in our local community especially Caledon in Bloom and The Caledon Regeneration Partnership.
