ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
During the reporting period the Poundbridge & District Community Association has been successful in hosting numerous events for the residents of our stated catchment area and surrounding area. The progress of previous years was built upon and many developments to the area were made.
The events in 2022 far out stripped any that we have ever previously have facilitated. The highlight of the year was the running of the Queens Jubilee celebrations in the Village with Hundreds attending the event, enjoying a fancy-dress parade, great entertainment, and afternoon teas. We ran events that included an Easter Treasure and continued with tuition classes in our own Hall. We looked further afield from our local community and a charity collection for Ukraine filled a very large lorry with clothes, toiletries, and baby items. Once again we were successful in gaining funding for a Yuletide festival that included a highly successful Christmas Market in the centre of Drumbo, a Christmas dinner for residents and the ever-popular Visit of
Santa around the district. The Country File Ramble we organised for Children in Need in October was an even bigger success and our Collections for the Children Cancer fund exceed £1,000.
We used grant funding to install picnic tables at the newly levelled and landscaped rear of the hall, supplied a new coffee machine, refurbished the minor hall with new curtains and trolley to move the pool table.
We were pleased to be awarded funding from the arts Council NI to run classes in 2023 flutes, drums, and fifes in our own hall and in Drumbo Orange Hall. This expands our reach, and it will run for 20 weeks until June 2023.
