Achievements and performance
Summary of the Overview main achievements Our AGM took place in October 2022. We had three new parents join the PTA. We of the charity during made plans for fundraising for the academic year as well as the launch if the new the year library which had been completed in the previous year through PTA fundraising. This would coincide with World Book Day where parents can come into the school and view the revamped facility. Despite having some new PTA members this year we still remain a small PTA with limited ability to run larger events for the school community
Fundraising activities in the school year included: Christmas disco - this is always an event the children look forward to. Alongside ticket sales, we had a raffle and tuck shop. This was our largest fundraiser of the year.
We ran some other small fundraising activities including a couple of ‘guess the jar competitions’ and a ‘guess the name of the teddy’
The PTA supported events such as sports day, easter egg hunt and P7 Leaver gifts. Through PTA donations we supplied an ice cream van for the children for sports day as a reward for participation, chocolate eggs for the easter egg hunt, donation to nursery for their sports day, and contribution to the P7 leavers gifts. We also bought bookmarks and other materials to make the library launch event special for the school.
Finally the PTA members through connections with the BBC were able to bring Pudsey to the school for a visit. We were lucky enough to be filmed for the BBC Children in Need Appeal show. This created a huge buzz among the staff and pupils.
Impact and Benefit
The children and school continue to benefit from the efforts of the PTA. As a small PTA and a small school we are limited as to what we can do and what we can raise. It was great to finally be able to complete the library and officially open this for pupil use to promote reading and improve literacy.
The school community continues to benefit socially from the events we run; with opportunities for fun and friendship outside of school and to develop positive relationships between pupils, parents and the school. The children also benefit from the small contributions we make for seasonal activities throughout the year as well as the kindness of parents, the connections, skills and commitment PTA parents bring to the school.
