Achievements and performance

Summary of the Overview main achievements Our AGM took place on 4th October 2021. We had three new parents join the PTA. of the charity during We made plans for fundraising for the academic year. We also planned the the year completion of the library which we had been raising funds for some time and teachers were able to purchase the final items required to complete the library room. We are conscious of the increasing cost of living crisis and asking families for money for activities. We again have kept fundraising events to a couple per year this year with this in mind.

Activities in the school year included:

Christmas disco - this is always an event the children look forward to. THis was the first christmas disco since covid and the children were very excited for this event.

The other main activity was the colour run. This was not a fundraising event but we aimed to cover the costs of the delivery of the event through a donation cost per child

The PTA supported events such as sports day, easter egg hunt and P7 Leaver gifts. We also purchased bookcases and the interactive white board for the school which had been long standing aims for our fundraising .

Impact and Benefit

The children and school continue to benefit from the efforts of the PTA. As a small PTA and a small school we are limited as to what we can do and what we can raise. This year it has been a great benefit finalising the purchase of the resources for the library. This means we can launch and open the library in 2022/23 for the children to use; to promote reading and improve literacy.

The school community continues to benefit socially from the events we run; with opportunities for fun and friendship outside of school and to develop positive relationships between pupils, parents and the school. For some children this was the first year after covid that they were able to enjoy activities afterschool. The children also benefit from the small contributions we make for easter activities and P7 leavers. This ensures they all get a free treat and feel valued within the school.
