DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
The charitable purpose of the Club is to help our members to cope with isolation, loneliness and mindfulness. The Luncheon Club is a cross community club for the over 60’s from the Loughbrickland local rural area.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The Luncheon Club plans a program for our 10 month calendar (no meetings in July and August) and meets every third Wednesday of each month. At these meetings, a hot lunch is provided for all members. At the same time we provide speakers and activities that all our members can participate in.
Activity packs are also distributed to members during the year and a regular News publication is printed for members.
The age range of our members is 60 to 95 years, and the monthly average attendance during the year was 71 up from 56 last year.
The Trustees wish to acknowledge their deep appreciation of those who give freely of their time by serving on committees and helping with lunches and distribution where necessary.
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
Loughbrickland 60+ Luncheon Club meets the public benefit requirement by providing benefit to its members by providing facilities in interests of social welfare and health, recreation and other leisure activities.
The direct benefits which flow from the purposes of the Club are improved health and wellbeing, increased knowledge and skills which reduce the feeling of isolation and loneliness.
The benefits are demonstrated through regular evaluation of the services and both formal and informal and ad-hoc feedback from members, their families, and members of the public.
There is no harm arising from our purpose, but members of our committee are trained to be aware should any issues arise.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The Club’s main ongoing source of income is members’ contributions at monthly lunches. There were 85 contributors during the year donating a total of £3,745 ( in previous year £2,314). The Club wishes to thankfully acknowledge the continued support of ABC Council in the form of Grants received towards running costs and special occasions totaling £2,120 during the year; as well as the receipt from lottery funding of £9,995 under the Awards for All Community Grant scheme.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements of the Luncheon Club in accordance with applicable law and generally accepted accounting practice.
As the Club’s total income does not exceed £250,000, the Trustees have elected under Section 64(3) of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 208 to prepare a receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and liabilities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Club’s transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time its financial position. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Club and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
