Little Folk Playgroup AGM 12[th] June 2024

– Treasurers Report

Hello,

I’m going to run through the Little Folk Income and Expenditure accounts for the year Ended 31[st] August 2023.

Little Folk playgroup is a registered charity, and as such do not operate to maximise profit but to enable the children to have a fulfilling and secure environment in which to develop.

I will run through the following figures,

Total income for 2022/23 was £74,252

Our total expenditure was £77,585

And this resulted in a loss of £3,333

Income of (£74,252) is split into 3 main categories,

EA Funding £51,205 Snack/ Fees/trips / 3 YO Room £22,427 Fundraising £320

The majority of the money received relates to EA funding for staff wages. Fundraising this year was difficult, our Halloween walk took in £320. We plan to really focus on fundraising next year and hopefully have more success applying for grants.

The total expenditure for the year was £77,585

As you can see the major expense is staffing, followed by Maintenance, premises rent, resources and Consumables. We pay rent to the Lecture hall for the use of the playgroup and we also pay for the heating of the building during the year.

Other expenditure : This include resources (craft activities, books and small toys), Consumables (this covers the cost of snacks and Cutlery etc) Insurance from Lockton, admin, Stationery & Postage, refreshments, training, telephone and broadband, membership and subscriptions to early years.

School Trips

In the 2022/23 year the children went to Fort Evergreen on their school trip, this was partially funded by Little Folk.

Summary

As stated above, we were unsuccessful with grant applications and fundraising was difficult. We hope to have more success next year.

That concludes my report on the accounts for 2022/23.
