Loughries Integrated Primary School PTFA – Annual Trustee Report
1[st] August 2022 – 31[st] July 2023
NI Charity Number – 107579
September 2022
PTFA assisted with the Teddy Bears Picnic event at school 30th September 2022 – providing tea / coffee refreshments for any of the prospective parents that came along. Adel Gilmour provided Mrs Thompson with a Teddy Bear Hunt to be used at the event.
October 2022
PTFA Ran a FREE Pumpkin Colouring competition for the whole school & provided prizes for this (1 for each class)
Halloween night – this year we weren’t able to get the use of the required field for the Fireworks. Rather than cancel the whole night we ran a Halloween event with different entertainment for the children. We wanted to give back as much to school families as possible and provided a lot of the event at no cost to parents. There were 150 goodie bags given out to children, free entertainment of a Party DJ & Snowglobe inflatable along with crisps, juice and glow sticks provided for children all free of charge. We were able to cover the costs by selling tea/coffee and running another raffle which once again we had fantastic donations for, along with £250 grant money that Mrs Thompson had available. We ended up raising over £200 which was a bonus as the night was primarily to get events kicked off again after a couple of years of not having any.
December 2022
PTFA had a busy month during December. School had requested PTFA donate a PA system to use at school events etc. This was agreed and the PA system picked by school was ordered and delivered to school by PTFA in the first week of December – it was approximately £250 to purchase this.
The whole school including all staff were taken to the Grand Opera House to see the Christmas 2022 Pantomime. PTFA covered all costs for tickets for pupils and staff and transport there and back. Overall this was close to a £2000 outgoing however the positive feedback we received for doing so was worth it.
PTFA Members provided refreshments for the Open Afternoon.
Christmas Fair was held on 10th December – this was our first time running this event and wasn’t perfect but there was a lot of positive feedback on it & multiple requests from vendors to run it again for Christmas 2023. The event raised approximately £400 which was great.
Once again this year we provided selection boxes for all the pupils in the school.
February 2023
We started the order process for the P7 Hoodies for the year – again this year we subsidised the cost of the hoodies and paid £10 per child towards their hoody.
Valentines Colouring competition – this was £1 an entry and we gave a prize per class. This raised just over £30.
March 2023
PTFA provided an end of term treat for all children. They also gave every child an Easter Egg and provided chocolates for staff.
P7 Hoodies delivered by PTFA to school before break up for Easter holidays.
May 2023
PTFA provided P7 pupils with a Best Wishes note and a small gift the day before they all got their new school notifications.
Fun Night was back and it was great to see so many faces at the school on a nice dry bright evening. We had lots of fun stalls and raised nearly £600 from the evening. We ran a separate raffle prize for a Stena Line crossing that we had been kindly given from a school family and that raised a further £400.
June 2023
PTFA provided free tea / coffee and refreshments for families at the School Sports Day & we also provided a haribo treat and juice for all pupils.
PTFA will be giving all P7 children a £15 gift voucher this year to wish them well and this will be left in to school on their last day.
