NIC107568 and as such no provision for taxation has been made. They are also a charity for
tax purposes under the Inland Revenue reference x0394181.the company was incorporated on

27 June 2005. Tbe company was established under a Memorandum and Articles of
Association whicli established the objects and powers of the company.
The day-to-day decisions making is undertaking by the board of dire¢tors/trustees and financial
matters are addressed by the treasurer in conjunction with the trustees. The board meets
monthly.
The charity trustees are also the directors of the company.

The Trustees present their Report together with unaudited accounts for Year Ended 31 March
2024.
Ob'ectives and actlvities
To promote the culture of India which refers to the way of life of the people of India. India's
languages, religions, dance, music, arcbitecture, food, and customs differ from place to place
witbin the county. The Indian culLkne, often labelled as an amalgamation of several cultures,
spans across tlie Indian sub¥ontinent and has bcen influenced by a history thal is Jlloie than
5000 ycars old. Many dements of India's diverse culÈures, suoli as Indian religions, classical
music, arts, Yoga, and tlldian cuisine, have had a profound impact across the world.
Mission:
To provide guidance and awareness of Indian culture to the wider public in Nortbern Ireland
also create a platfonn to express or display the Indian heritage and values.
Aim:
Indian Community Centre is a voluntary organisation wbicb promotes the benefit of the Indian
community in Nortbern Ireland ('tbe area of benefit,) by the provision of facilities for
education, culture, reLigion, recreation or other leisure time occupation for the different
traditions among the Indian community in the area of benefit who have need of sucb facilities
by reason of their youth, age, infirn]ity or disablemen( povety or social and economic
CIr￿UnstanCeS with the object of improving their conditions of life.
To advance education about the cultures of India for the benefit of the public and promote
cultural diversity among the public in Northern Ireland by any charitable means as the directors
may detennine.
Indian Community Centre (ICC) was set up in 1981. Its community development and outreacb
pro￿eS promote integration among various communities ill the county.
Achievements and
erformance
Republic Day of India - India marks and celebrates the date on which Constitution of India
came into effect. This day is celebrated at the end of Januaryl February.
Holi- Festival of colours. The vibrancy of colours is sometE]ing that brings positivityy joy and
enthusiasm. Friends and Families attend the event at ICC and play with colours.
Indian new year day - Various part of India celebrate the new year in March /April time.
Members of the Indian community meet on this day at the centre and take part oll various
cultural activities.
Independence Day - Community members take part on vaTiOUS cultural activities and display
their ricb cultural heritage to all members.

Diwali event - Festival of light. Diwali, or Deepavali, is India's biggest alld most important
boliday of the year, The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that
Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the iDner light that protects from spiritual
darkness, This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Cl]ristians.
Over the centuries, Diwali has bccome a Dational festival that's also enjoyed by non-Hindu
commuDities.
Christs Day - Cljildren take part in CbTisknas celebrations every year. ICC will organise
various fiJn activities for the chil(Iren. Every child will get at least one gift on this day.

Scnior citizenvo club on every Monday - ICC linqtq Ihp. Seninr citizens club whicb was setup to
provide services to the members of the South AsiaÈ] coniniunity iiiostly live alone. The club
operates on Mondays between I l am- 2 pm.
Balagokulam classes are conducted on every Sunday aftcrnoon for almost all age groups for
both boys and girls. It nurtures confidence and thcir identity, develop social awareness and
leadership skills among children.
Summer fun activities for under ten- Cbaitanya ISKON group conducts various classes for the
cbikdren under the age of ten during the sumtner months.
SERVICES
ICC is a member of the NICRE work group attellding regular meetings. NICRE
supi)ort people who have case against public autbority andlor other coniplainls whether it
is basic scrvice provisions, discrimination, rdcist harassment and racist violence. We refcr
cases to Equality commissio￿ Law Centre, Public Interests Litigalion SLlPPOrt pioject, etc.
NICRE bas cxpertisc and collsultancy functions to develop and to deliver anti-racism,
equality and diversity training for the statutory, voluntary, community, trade union and
private sector, with the aim to take an integrated approacb to the issues and to address the
policy and practice of organisations.
CC is also member of North Belfast Heritage Cluster Belfast Cbaritable Society, and
Clifton House, is a member of the North Belfast Heritage Cluster. a group of voluntary
organisations that own or care for an historic building (and graveyardl) in tbe area. Tbe
aims of the Cluster is to deliver herilage-led regeneration, using wbat's special about the
area to create a more confldent sense of place. ICC and other members open their premiscs
for tbe public viewings once or twice in a year as part of the national heritage week
celebrations.

During the year the committee has worked hard giving cultural talks to schools and the general
public, raising the awareness of the Indian Community as well as religious activates. They have
also bired out their I￿11 for culture activities, which includes weddings, shows and science
festivals.
Financial Review
The committee is aware that the f￿anCIal statements for the period ended 31 March 2024
shows a deficit of £21,715. A substance amount of buildillg rcpair work has been done to the
building and this continued this year amounting to £6,858. An additional £22,625 has been
spent on an HR settlement.
The cotnmittee would like to take this opportunity to thank the tnembers for their support this
ycar and hopc thot it will continue in tho y¢aTS to come.

2006, bave acted throughout the period are as stated on Page l of these financial statements.

The Trustees are responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements for each financial
period which give a true and fair view of the surplus or deficit arising in the period and of the
assets and liabilities of tbe Charity &8 at the end of the financial period.
The Financial Statements are to be prepared under Section 64(1) of the Charities Act (Nl) 2008.
The Trustees are responsible for the maintenance of proper accounting records which disclose
with reasonable accuracy tbe financial position of the Cbarity at any given time, They are
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and for taking all necessary steps for the
prevention or detection of fraud and other irregularities.
