Charity Registration Number: NIC107561

1. Reference and Administration

This report, which forms part of the trustees’ report, has been prepared to meet the requirements of charity law in Northern Ireland. It covers the activities of the Belfast and Lisburn Community Project for the financial year ending 2 July 2025.

2. Chair's Statement

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my privilege to present this annual report.

The past year has been one of extraordinary transition and growth for our charity. Our most significant achievement was the relocation to our new premises. This move, while challenging, represents a transformative opportunity to expand our vital services within the community.

|

We owe a profound debt of gratitude to the local company whose generous support and expertise were instrumental in the construction of our new home. Their commitment to our cause has laid the physical foundation for our future work.

| must also extend my deepest thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and my fellow trustees. Their unwavering hard work, resilience, and commitment over many months ensured that our essential services continued without interruption during this complex period of transition. The trustees have shown remarkable personal commitment, providing crucial financial support to stabilise our operations and ensure we could continue our mission.

3. Objectives and Activities

Our charitable object is to prevent or relieve poverty and hardship in the Belfast and Lisburn communities. This year, our primary activities focused on:

° Operating a food bank, social supermarket and benefits advice. ° Providing a shelter and support for people experiencing homelessness. ° Distributing essential items such as clothing, tents, and sleeping bags.

4. Achievements and Performance

The move to our new, purpose-adapted premises has been the cornerstone of our year’s achievements. For the first time, we now operate froma single, integrated facility housing our shelter, food bank, social supermarket, and administrative office. This has significantly increased our operational capacity and efficiency.

Despite the dual task of managing ongoing construction and delivering services with limited resources, our impact has grown. Every month, we now provide essential food support to over 120 people in need through our combined food bank and social supermarket. Furthermore, we have been able to extend our support to the homeless community, offering not only food and clothing but also critical survival equipment like tents and sleeping bags, particularly during the winter months.

Our work remains challenging, and we continue to Operate under significant resource constraints. However, the new premises have positioned us to support more vulnerable people than ever before by providing for their most essential needs.

5. Structure, Governance, and Management

The charity is managed by a board of volunteer trustees, who bring a range of skills and experience. All trustees have given generously of their time and, this year, personal financial resources to guide the charity through its relocation and ensure service continuity. The day-to-day operations are supported by a core of dedicated volunteers.

6. Financial Review

The financial statements for the year show a period of significant investment in our new premises. The generous in-kind support from a local company, combined with the financial contributions from the trustees, has been critical in managing this transition. We acknowledge that resources remain tight as we complete the final stages of construction and work towards financial sustainability in our new location.

7. Future Plans

}

Our immediate focus is on completing the remaining work at our new premises and consolidating our expanded services. We believe that by the next financial year, we will be operating fully from the new site, allowing us to return toa normal operational rhythm and plan for sustainable growth. Moving premises and starting afresh is no easy task, but we are confident that the foundation we have built this year will enable us to help more people in our community for years to come.
