Itis our responsibility to: - examine the accounts under Section 65 of the Charities Act; : - fatlow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Commission under Section 65(9} (b) of the Charities Act: + state whether particular matters have come to our attention. Basis of Independent examiner's report We have examined your charity accounts as required under Section 65 ofthe Charities Actand our examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern fretand under Section 65 (3){b} of the Charities Act. ;

Gur examination included a review af the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records, [talso included considerations of any unusual items o7 disclosures in the accounts, and sceking explanation from you as charity members concerning any such matters,

Our role is to state whether any material matters have come to our attention giving us cause to believe:

Feis Dhaire Chalmcille is an annual feis that commences each year from Tuesday of Easter week and runs to the Friday inclusive. It provides a platform for children between the ages of 4to 18 _ year olds from music, drama, primary, post primary and grammar schools to showcase their talents : . by taking part in competitions in the chosen field of drama, music, instrumental, trish language and : Irish dancing. At the annual feis each participating competitor or group benefits from an adjudication of their perfarmance from a professionally trained adjudicator which is intended to encourage, train, and develop their abilities in thelr chosen discipline. They gain a deeper appreciation of their repertoire and of the work and performance of others during their partlelpation. Performances are + witnessed by and audience who get the benefit of seeing a performance and hearing an adjudication. Public benefits

The public benefit that flows from the charitable purpose is providing an oppartunity for children te perform and showcase their talent in from of adjudicators at an annual feis event. It continues to sustain, promote and enhance the musical and drama culture of the City of Derry by providing a platform for children to perform.

Risk Management

The members have assessed the major risks to which the organisation is exposed, in particular those related to the operations and finances of the association, and are satishied that systems are in place to mitigate the exposure te the major risks.

Members Responsibilities In Relation To The Financial Statements

The members are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Acounting Practice.

The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland requires the members to prepare the financial statements that give atrue and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the end of the financial year and of its surplus or deficit for the financial year. In doing so the members are required to:

The members are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enables them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the necessary legislation.The members are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
