This template is to provide guidance to units who are completing a Trustee Annual Report for the NI Charity Commission.  If you do not wish to use this form please ensure that the headings in this guidance are followed when completing a Trustee Annual Report. 

**All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** 

**The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.**

A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year 



Please insert how many girls took part in the unit, what events and activities took place, what achievements e.g. badges etc that were gained.  Also state that there was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit 

11 girls attended weekly aged between 4-7 years with three leaders and a young leader. 

The year started with getting to know our  new young members with fun activities both inside and outside when weather permitted. We completed many badges including Network, Healthy living and Skills for my future which included completing baking activities, the value of money, first aid skills and learning to tie shoe laces. We also thought about female pioneers for Parliament week and studied Chinese culture for  Thinking Day. We attended a Christmas Fun night organised by Resurgum Trust Lisburn where we enjoyed campfire activities, crafts and everyone met Santa. At Christmas we also held our annual Promise service which was attended by the girls’ families and friends, followed by light refreshments. Throughout the year we enjoyed many campfires with hotdogs and s’mores, an Easter egg hunt before ending the year with a teddy bears picnic at 

A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance 

All Trustees are aware and have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement. 

A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year 

The overall position is healthy. There are no debits or reserves to record. The opening balance on 01/09/23 was £813.39 and closing balance on 31/08/24 was £703.98, thanks to an Education Authority Grant. 

Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit 

Eglantine Rainbows Unit have no material deficit.
