**Purposes:** The group is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Ballysillan area and its immediate environs, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for health, recreation and leisure-time occupation of the inhabitants who are in need as a result of their youth, age, disability, informality or social economic circumstances with the object of improving the condition of life.
