The Parent Support Group of St.Mary’s Primary School Kircubbin (“PSG”) is established to advance the education of pupils at St. Mary’s Primary School Kircubbin (“the school”) by providing or assisting in the provision of educational facilities at the School and ancillary to this and in furtherance of this object the PSG may:
-
(a) foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others who befriend the school; and
-
(b) engage in activities which support the School and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
Activities during the year
During the year 2022-2023 we raised a total of £5578.00 from weekly non-uniform days, and fundraising activities including a Halloween Disco, Christmas Wreath Making Workshop, Christmas Fair, and a Quiz night.
We’ve been able to support the School and its pupils through the provision of an interactive whiteboard, books, 19 Google Chromebooks were purchased and we funded the P7 leavers’ hoodies, buses to the Pantomime and selection boxes at Christmas time.
In addition to this, we applied and were successfully awarded a grant from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to fund a “Pollinators Through Art Project” where pupils and staff worked alongside a local artist to improve the school garden while learning about biodiversity and art. Thanks to support via the Asda Foundation, we were able to provide an Easter Egg to all pupils in the School also.
We are pleased to report that the account shows a healthy balance going into 2023-2024 academic year.
