stroke carg a¢.ros.s the statutory. voluntary and indepertdent Seclors in order to
Promote excellence in 8troke dellvery acr08s Northorn Ireland.
NIMAST supports stroke specific training, research and education and inc.reases
members, knowledge through the sharing and dissemination of information and
experience ralating to strok8 care. NIMAST also provide input into national
guidelines and respond to the requests of other o.rg8nlsatlons for advlce. on
matters telatlng to stroke care. It also provide expert advlce regarding stroke
health policy and Se￿iCe delivery and lobby's for betier stroke service$ and
PIOVi8ion .It represents member8 on national .commltt8e8 and forum8 .
Activities in 2023..2024
NIMAST Is represented on the Intercollegiate Stroke Working Party ( ICSWP )
and attends 3 online meetings and one face to face meeting per year.
Thi5 group oversees the developmenl and production of Ihe evidence base for
atroke and the Stroke Sèntinel National Audit Prograrn( SSNAP) . As part of this
group, we w8r.e involved in updating Natlonal Clinlcal Guldellnes for Slroke and
provlded financi'al yupport fo.r.their development which w.ere published in April
2023 .
NIMAST .are a registered stakeholders for the NICE stroke reha'bllltatlon
guideli￿ and members provided fee.dback and cornment and guideline8 were
publi.shed in Octobe.r2023.
NIMAST also repre8onts m8mb8Jf8 ai the Nl Stroke Steerfng G.roup and meets
every quarter. This group Infomis. o.versee and rnonltors siroke care delivery
ac￿088 Nl.
NIMAST is also represen.ted at UKSF 8cientific and plahnihg committee to inform
and organlze the annual UK stro.ke forum. The role entails identlfylng Northern

Irish speaker8 and rosÈarch ensuring Northern Ireland is reprogontad in thè
programme.
NIMAST worked wlth Visit Bewast to submit a bid to host the UK strok
.conference In 2925.
NIMAST hosled a Qvality Improvement day in conjunction with NJ .stroke netwofk
for stroke cllnlclans across the region on 1 •1 March 2023.
