Annual review Ist September 2024 to 31st August 2025
On review of the year ending 31st August 2025, Kilrea Community Early Years had a positive year in terms of growth, development and community integration.
The playgroup provided children and families with an holistic environment to develop key foundation educational and social skills.
Highlights of activities/learning from the year included;
Seasonal activities- Autumn walks /Christmas activities including shows /Winter, Spring and Easter activities.
Learning about people who can help us eg Emergency services, doctors, nurses, optician vet, postman etc. Learning and playing together they also participated in a getting ready to learn programme.
Visit to local schools, which included workshops in winter wellbeing, & life on the farm.
The children & staff also attended a pantomime, a visit to the library and local businesses.
Children, staff and families were involved in fundraising events to support the service. Fundraising helped support the maintenance and service of the playgroup.
The main fundraising continues to work towards replacement of the current soft pour flooring in the external play area.
In relation to accounts, funding was received as per norm from EA Fees and additional grants. Income and expenditure accounts were prepared and have been reviewed and agreed by the committee.
