The trustees present their Trustees' Annual Report prepared in accordance with Charities SORP (effective January 2015) and the independently examined statements for the year ended 31[st] August 2025
Structure, Governance and Management
The Open Door Centre (Ederney) is governed by its Constitution that was adopted on 14[th] November 2013 The trustees at the date of this report and those who served during the financial year together with the dates of any changes are set out are listed below.

The Open Door Centre (Ederney) is registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland since 26[th] May 2020, under reference number NIC 107514
Public address
During the year 2023-2024, we continued holding weekly meetings. These meetings are held jointly with the Drumkeen Court Coffee Morning Group. We purchased two non-contact hand sanitisers and requested all members to use
We also organised a number of educational outings and events.
We have moved
In January 2020, we moved from Ederney Town Hall to 21 Drumkeen Court BT93 0DD, a premises owned by Choice Housing Ireland. We found this facility much more suited to our needs and have now decided to make it our new operating base.

Objectives and Activities
Objectives
-
1) Promoting the health and well-being of the residents of the area and working together as persons regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation recognising the value of our many differences.

2) Provide a safe environment for people of all ages to meet and develop skills.

3) Provide, refreshments, newspapers, television and internet access at our regular meetings.

4) Promoting cross community recreation and meeting facilities.

5) To address digital exclusion experienced by older people through computer/Information Technology classes

6) To arrange classes, workshops and presentations on basket making, pottery, local history, reminiscence etc

7) Arrange trips and outings to places of educational, historic and recreational significance,

8) Work with similar groups and exchange information and advice with them.
Key Activities in this Year
The Open Door Centre (Ederney) continued holding public meetings at 21 Drumkeen Court every week throughout the year 20223/2024.
We also organised educational outings viz:

An outing to a local hotel for lunch and a social chat in March 2024

A visit to the ancient Monastic Site on Devenish Island in July 2025

A riverboat tour of Enniskillen on an electrically powered boat
The Open Door Centre (Ederney) Trustees have considered Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our objectives and in planning our future activities to ensure that these achieve the association’s purposes and provide a benefit to beneficiaries.

The Open Door Centre (Ederney) is non-profit making with net income and resources in this year of £4,163.83. The trustees continue to manage resources in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Reserves Policy
The Open Door Centre (Ederney) have a Reserves Policy, which requires that reserves are built or maintained at a level which ensures that the organisations core activities could continue during a period of unforeseen difficulty and that the organisations known liabilities will be paid should the organisation cease to trade.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES
for the year ended 31[st] August 2025
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with all appropriate regulations. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
In so far as the trustees are aware:

there is no relevant information (information needed by the charity's independent examiner in connection with preparing the independent examiners report) of which the charity's independent examiner is unaware, and
-
the trustees have taken all the steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant independent examiner information and to establish that the charity's independent examiner is aware of that information.
