Trustees’ Annual Report for the period
From 01/01/2022 To 31/12/2022
Charity name: Killowen Drive Residents Association
In presenting the trustee annual report for the Killowen Drive Residents Community Group, we find ourselves reflecting on a year that, while quieter than usual, has reaffirmed the enduring strength and resilience of our community. The past year, 2022, brought with it a unique set of circumstances that limited our traditional activities and engagements. However, it is in these moments of stillness and reflection that the essence of our community’s unity and solidarity shines most brightly.
Despite the relative quietude of the past year, this report stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and the well-being of our residents. We believe it is essential to provide an honest and clear account of our organization’s activities, even when external factors have impacted the scope of our work.
While the challenges posed by the ongoing global pandemic and other circumstances may have led to a reduction in our usual endeavors, our core values and principles remained resolute. Throughout the year, we continued to support and engage with our community members to the best of our ability, adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of restrictions and safety measures.
Our annual Halloween event went ahead, following government guidelines and regulations. We communicated with residents via our social media channels and group meetings went ahead when regulations allowed us to meet. We will reflect on this quieter year and we eagerly anticipate a dynamic and more involved 2023.
As trustees of the Killowen Drive Residents Community Group, we remain dedicated to the principles of accountability and stewardship, even during times when our activities may appear subdued.
We extend our gratitude to our trustees, volunteers, supporters, and the entire Killowen Drive community for their unwavering patience and understanding as we navigated a quieter year together. As we look ahead, we remain committed to the ideals of community, unity, and resilience that define our organization.
Financial Review:
Principal Source of Funds – “Cash for Clothes” Community Recycling Scheme:
The primary financial sustenance of our charity, the Killowen Drive Residents Association, derives from our strategic partnership with the “Cash for Clothes” community recycling scheme. At the heart of this collaboration stands our on-site clothes bank, a tangible symbol of our commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
Through this initiative, both our residents and members of the broader community have the opportunity to contribute by responsibly disposing of their unwanted clothes and bedding. In return, our charity is remunerated by the “Cash for Clothes” company, with these funds directly supporting our mission and diverse community activities.
This sustainable and innovative funding source not only promotes environmental stewardship but also bolsters our capacity to deliver on our mission and vision. It underscores our commitment to creating a selfsustaining, inclusive, and thriving community here at Killowen Drive.
The “Cash for Clothes” community recycling scheme, embodied by our onsite clothes bank, represents a harmonious fusion of ecological responsibility and community-driven resourcefulness. Its continued success stands as a testament to our dedication to both financial prudence and our unwavering commitment to our community’s welfare.
Structure, Governance and Management:
In accordance with our organization’s constitution and governing documents, we hereby affirm that Killowen Drive Residents Association is a constituted community group. Our constitution outlines our mission, objectives, governance structure, and operating principles, all of which guide our activities and initiatives throughout the reporting period.
