Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From 01/01/2021 To 31/12/2021

Charity name: Killowen Drive Residents Association

## **Objectves and Actvites:**

In the face of the extraordinary challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated government restrictions, the Killowen Drive Residents Association remained resolute in its commitment to serve and support our community. Our primary objective during this reporting year was to prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents while adhering to all prevailing regulations.

Key activities and initiatives undertaken during this period included:

1. **Annual Halloween Event:** Despite the profound sorrow experienced by our community due to the tragic loss of a young resident, we recognized the importance of coming together as a source of comfort and solidarity. With great care and sensitivity, we organized a scaled-back version of our traditional Halloween event. It included food and treats, a controlled bonfire, and a fireworks display, allowing our residents to gather, albeit in a more subdued manner, and find solace in each other’s company.

2. **Bereavement Support:** Recognizing the impact of loss on our community, we extended our compassion to residents’ families during times of bereavement. In a gesture of empathy and support, we provided flowers to these families, offering a token of solace and sympathy during their times of grief.

## **Financial Review:**

Principal Source of Funds – “Cash for Clothes” Community Recycling Scheme:

The primary financial sustenance of our charity, the Killowen Drive Residents Association, derives from our strategic partnership with the “Cash for Clothes” community recycling scheme. At the heart of this collaboration stands our on-site clothes bank, a tangible symbol of our commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Through this initiative, both our residents and members of the broader community have the opportunity to contribute by responsibly disposing of their unwanted clothes and bedding. In return, our charity is remunerated by the “Cash for Clothes” company, with these funds directly supporting our mission and diverse community activities.

This sustainable and innovative funding source not only promotes environmental stewardship but also bolsters our capacity to deliver on our mission and vision. It underscores our commitment to creating a self-sustaining, inclusive, and thriving community here at Killowen Drive.

The “Cash for Clothes” community recycling scheme, embodied by our on-site clothes bank, represents a harmonious fusion of ecological responsibility and community-driven resourcefulness. Its continued success stands as a testament to our dedication to both financial prudence and our unwavering commitment to our community’s welfare.

## **Structure, Governance and Management:**

In accordance with our organization’s constitution and governing documents, we hereby affirm that Killowen Drive Residents Association is a constituted community group. Our constitution outlines our mission, objectives, governance structure, and operating principles, all of which guide our activities and initiatives throughout the reporting period.
