Structure, Governance and Management.
The Charity’s governing document is a constitution.
Objectives.
Improved relationships between home and school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Kilbride Central Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are the children and young people attending the school and their parents and teachers, and also children and young people in the local community. In Advancing the education of pupils in the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Kilbride Central Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefits incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
Our organisation is made up of a group of elected parents and staff. As a group we strive to ensure that all parents and staff are actively involved in our operation. We do this by regularly updating parents on events and upcoming activities via the school newsletter, school twitter and PTA Facebook. Every year we organise a calendar of fundraising activities and these include family, parent and children only events e.g. pupil discos, annual Christmas fair, school fetes, movie nights
Our activities during this year.
Emily’s Legacy
We held a Fundraising event for Emily’s Legacy in order to raise funds for a defibrillator for the front of the school, for all the community to make use of. The PTA provided money towards sponsorship for the children’s Kite Day.
Christmas Fayre
We held a Christmas fayre in the school hall and had some stall holders in attendance who paid for a table to sell their crafts. We also had a PTA stall. Guess the name of the elf and how many sweeties in the jar competions.
KCPS Bobble Hats
Branded KCPS Bobble Hats sold to KCPS families for kids and adults. Competion for the most adventurous selfie whilst wearing hat for a smyth’s voucher. Selfie’s to be posted to Facebook to promote our social media page.
Christmas selection boxes turned into class gifts
PTA arranged for classes to have items which they could make use of all year as a collective class gift, instead of selection boxes. Classes requested games and PTA funds paid for those.
Colour Hamper
We asked all the children to bring in an item of the colour given to their class to create a hamper which could then be won by someone in the class. In exchange for their item they brought in the children had a non uniform day wearing the colour of their class group. The children really bought into their colours and hampers. Raffles were sent home and we raised a fantastic profit for something so easily created. The children also really enjoyed taking part.
Sports Day
We extended our sports day to include some refreshments with tea/coffee and buns being served and fun toys for sale.
Feel Good Friday
In June the children received an ice‐lolly to make them ‘Feel Good’ with all their classmates as we reached the end of term. These were donated by Tesco and no cost to PTA or the children.
Colour Run
This certainly got the interest of the kids and the adults! We had great support from our KCPS families, as it was made into a family event. Lots of fun was had as we invited along the local Fire brigade who sprayed everyone at the starting line and also Love Ballyclare was on hand for some fantastic photos! It was a colourful display and we had ice‐cream and burger vans in attendance to round off the evening for all the families.
P7 Leavers Assembly
A sad but exciting part of the year to see our P7’s make the transition to big school. We supplied tea, coffee, snacks and cake for their leavers assembly to help see them on their way. We wish them every success in their new schools.
Statement of Thanks.
The trustees wish to express thanks for all PTA members and school staff who have helped with the organising and support of our events and we would also like to say a big thanks to our local businesses who assisted with the sponsorship and donations in making another successful fundraising year for Kilbride Central Primary PTA.
