The trustees, who are also the directors for the purposes of company law, present their report and the unaudited receipt and payment accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2024.

## **Structure, governance and management** 

Atticall Youth Club is governed by the Clubs Constitution adopted on 1st October 2012. 

The affairs of the Club are managed by a Committee elected annually but the members. This Committee consists of Honorary Officers and ordinary members. 

The Honorary Officers who served the club during the year were as follows: 

Chairperson - Mrs R Quinn, Vice-Chair - Mr B Cunningham Treasurer - Mr R Greer Secretary - Ms L J O'Hare 

Other committee members Mrs B Haughain, Ms A Campbell, Mrs B Murphy & Ms K Cunningham.

## **Objectives and activities** 

Principal Activity 

The principal activity of the club continued to be working towards the aims of Atticall Youth Club: 

- To provide recreational and development activities for young people of the surrounding area 

- To provide informal educational programmes for young people 

- To provide a safe place for young people to mix with their peers 

- To provide incentives to the young people 

- To provide an interest and community spirit in young people 

The membership of Atticall Youth Club is open to all young people ages seven and over, from the local area. 

## **Achievements and performance** 

Due to lack of volunteer numbers to run the youth club a call for volunteers was put out to the local Primary School and GAA club.  Unfortunately, there were not enough volunteers to run the youth club for this period. 

## **Financial review** 

The Club ended the period with a balance of £5,917 in our Youth club Current Account and £204 in cash in hand. 

The Youth Club did not receive any funding in 2024 and ongoing overhead payments for the year are summarised on page 4. 

A net deficit of £378 (2023 – surplus of £706) was recorded for the year.

Future Developments 

A recruitment drive for volunteers will take place to ensure services for the young people in the area are available

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Atticall Youth Club** 

## **Year ended 31 August 2024** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the receipt and payment accounts of Atticall Youth Club ('the charity') for the year ended 31 August 2024. 

## **Respective Responsibilities of Charity Trustees and Examiner** 

As the trustees of the Club, you are responsible for the preparation of the receipt and payment accounts in accordance with the requirements of Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2015. You are satisfied that the accounts of the Club are not required by charity law to be audited and have chosen instead to have an independent examination. 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's receipt and payment accounts as carried out under section 65 of the Charities Act. 

It is my responsibility to: 

- (1) examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act 

- (2) follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act 

- (3) state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

Basis of independent examiner's report 

I have examined your charity accounts as required under Section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. 

My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe: 

- (1) That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 

- (2) That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records 

- (3) That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 

- (4) That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination and have no concerns in respect of the matters (1) to (4) listed above and, in connection with following the Directions of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing to your attention.

## **1. Accounting policies** 

## **Basis of preparation** 

The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. 

## **Going concern** 

There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue. 

## **Fund accounting** 

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Club to further any of the charitable Club's purposes. 

Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the Club for particular future project or commitment. 

Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure declared by the donor or through the terms of a letter of offer. 

## **Incoming resources** 

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when it has been received by the club. 

## **Resources expended** 

Expenditure is recognised on a payments basis. 

Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is classified under headings of the statement of financial activities to which it relates.
