Purpose of Charity
The church acknowledges the headship of Jesus Christ over His Church and exists to glorify the triune God by maintaining and promoting His worship both individually and corporately. Its members devote themselves to the teachings of Scripture, to fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer and evangelism. They commit, with the help of God, to be a witness to the saving and sustaining power of the Lord Jesus Christ and to work for the extension of His Kingdom.
The principal charitable objective of the church is the advancement of the Christian faith according to the teachings of Scripture, the Doctrinal Statement and Baptist principles.
Achievement and Performance
2022 saw an encouraging return to the church routine that existed pre-pandemic with the addition of several aspects of communication and livestreaming that we learnt through the covid season.
Our regular Sunday services together with Sunday School and Bible Class and our Wednesday night prayer meeting along with all our other regular activities continued to build back to full programs.
Our mum’s and tots group began in the Autumn and we commenced a community café on Mondays in partnership with local community groups. These new ventures helped to build our community relations and the furtherance of our gospel work.
The congregation of Emmanuel Baptist have been able to provide finances to support our pastors. Additionally, we have been able to contribute to other various Christian Missionary work at home and abroad.
The trustees are thankful for the support from all involved in the charity and are grateful that after the expenditure on charitable activities we finished the year with a small surplus.
The work and witness of Emmanuel Baptist Church is founded on the authority of the Holy Bible that reveals God’s love for mankind in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Saviour of sinners and this we believe to have been the case during 2022.
