TRUSTEE ANNUAL REPORT l. Name of Charity as it appears on the Register: CLADY WATER BAPTIST CHURCH 2. Registered CCNI Number - 107385 3. The Purpose of the Charity: The charity's purpose is 'The Advancement of Religion" specifically the advancement of the Christian faith according to Biblical principles. 4. Trustee Appolntments The Charity Trustees are the members of the Church Oversight Committee which consists of Pastor, Elders and Deacons. All male members of the Church are eligible for electlon as a deacon and, unless disquallfied by Statute, also to hold office as a trustee. Elders are elected for life, unless they choose to retire or leave the Fellowship, while Pastors serve for the period of their pastorate. The Church's Constitution requires a two thirds majorlty of those voting by ballot for the appointment of a Pastor. Church members vote by ballot for these offices at a Church Business Meeting which is open to all church members and is publicly announced at the services on the previous two Sundays. The names of the Charity Trustees on 31st December 2022, were Edward Bissett and Raymond Green. At the time of signing this report, they are Edward Bissett, Raymond Green, Ian Courtney and Ian Milliken. 5. This report relates to the financial year l January 2022 to 31 December 2022. 6. Our Charity's main activities to further our purposes for the Public Benefit are as follows: We seek to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as outlined in the Scriptures. The benefit which flows from our purpose is that through attending Sunday Services and midweek Bible Study Meetings, the regular congregatlon and visitors will get to know God in a deeper, fuller and personal way. The benefits are evidenced through verbal feedback to the Elders, from individuals who have come into a closer relationship with God through the Bible teaching and fellowship experienced. In addition to our Sunday Services and Mid-week Meetings, we have our Sunday School meetings throughout the year. We also have Fellowship Dinners throughout the year which are provided free Of charge to all who attend. All these gatherings are open to the public with additional visitors attending, and a number have become regular attenders through the current year. However, while the Covid Regulations and restrirtions had caused the cancellation of all meetings for parts of the previous year, the full range of meetings had not restarted by the end of that year and attempts to commence them were unsuccessful during this year.
Pastoral support and visitation for the sick and elderly continued throughout the year including regular visits to a local nursing home. Special Meetings are also held periodically on a Sunday Morning, with Missionary and other Christian workers, and donations given to help other Christian works. The Trustees gratefully acknowledge the voluntary assistance of many of the members and of the congregation who freely give of their time and talents to support the worship and operations of the church. 7. Public Benefit Requirement All of our Trustees are aware of and have regard to the Charity Commlssion's Public Benefit Requirement throughout the year. Charity's Financial Position for the financial year ending on 31/12/2022 Total Income: £29050.21 Total Expenditure: £21621. 19 9. Payments to Trustees No Trustee recelved payment for undertaking trustee dutles. Payments to the pastor relate to expenses incurred in the performance of the dutles of pastor. Where Trustees have purchased Items on behalf of the Charity these costs may be reimbursed. 10. Custodian Trustees Premises owned by the Charity are held under trust by "Custodian Trustees" whose sole function is to hold the property assets of the Church. Custodian Trustees do not serve in the Church unless also holding the Office of Elder or Deacon as above. I l. Action on Deflclt Funds.
