In the last 12 months, Bawnmore & District Residents Association have continued to provide support,
assistance and advice to the community of Bawnmore and surrounding areas as well a5 engaging with
various agencies and organisations whilst doing so. We have continued to work without a community
base, but we hope to access use of an office space within Mill Green Youth Centre as agreed with the
Education Authority to begin to show our capacity and skill with hope that in the future we may have a
facility we can manage as a Residents Association that will give us more freedom and opportunity to
provide even more for our community,
We are also pleased to work alongside and support local groups including Greencastle Rovers and
Greencastle Wolf tones. Greencastle Parent the local schools Hazelwood integrated and St.Marys
Primary School.
We were also nominated for a Pride of Place Award from ANB Council where we were placed runners up
in the E5tes Category for all Ireland,
We delivered a number of events for the area using funding from SPOD, Antrim & Newtownabbev
Borough Council, N IH E and Clanmill. These included:
Summer Festival Funday providing a fun family day for al I with Inflatables, a BBQ Football
Tournament and Fairtale Ponies.
End of Summer Fundav.
Cultural day event in collaboration with Arts Ekta held in Mill Green Youth Centre.
Various trips for young people in the Youth projects community.
Pampering and wellbeing evening for Parent & Carers of our Parent & Toddler group which
included Alternative Therapies. They aSso received Certificates for Ba by Massa8e courses
delivered by Nuturing Nights.
Easter Fun Day with inflatables and Barbecue.
Men's Mental heath Fishing Trip.
Christmas event 2023: Christmas light switch on and family fun event.
Easter 2022: Family fun day and Easter Egg Hunt
Irish language classes for the communitv
Action Cancer Bus for health MOTS and Breast Screening.

Airtastic.
Mums and Tots held weekly in Mill Green Youth Centre along With trip to Santa Steam Train and
Clanmill help funded our summer program in 2023 which included, BAC trips, Airtastic Trips and
youth drop in for all ages.
Senior Citizens Bus Run to Newry with lunch provided.
Outreach at interface along With EA.
Senior Citizens Christmas dinner and bingo night in Millgreen Youth club.
Wednesday night Young Women and young Men Groups in Millgreen Youth Club.
Halloween Disco & Party in Millgreen Youth Centre For ages 5 to 7 ands 8 plus.
Our Committee also represent our Residents Association on several working groups, inter agencies and
networks.
We have upcoming plans for events and programmes in the next year including:
Reopening the Pensioners group and focusing on events and prograrnmes for the group.
Summer diversionary events
Summer family events.

Bawnmore 60 Anniversary events.
Continuing to work with the EA and ANBC to upgrade the Mugga pitch.
We are organizing a defib training course for the community and we hope to raise awareness for this
and provide training to anyone in the community who would like to take part.
We feel the committed Members of Bawnmore and Distrirt Residents Association have a lot of exciting
plans and ideas for our future and particularly over the next 12 months. We hope to continue to grow in
numbers and in building our capacity as well as working to support the groups and agencies who we
engage with.
