1. Accounting Policies
1 (a) Basis of Preparation
The financial statements have been prepa￿d under the historic cost convention, with the exception of
investments which are included al fair value.
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended
Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102), with the Financial Reporting
Standard-, FRS 102 and with the requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
The financial statements have been presented in sterling which is the functional currency of the entity.
The Trust Funds meet the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. The direct benefits flowing from
this purpose include the education of children at Lagan College by providing greater opportunities for the
students to learn more effectively by providing a safe space to nurture the minds, hearts and spirits of the
students. The advancement of religion, the advancement of human rights. conflict resolution or reconciliation
or the promotion of religious or racial hamony and equality or diversity. The beneficiaries are the children,
parents and staff of Lagan College Belfast.
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis.
1 (bl Fund Structure
Where there 15 a legal restriction on the purpose for which a fund may be used, the fund is classified eilher
as an endowment fund. where the donor has expressly provided that only the income ofthe fund may be
expended, or as a restricted fund, where the donor has provided for the donation to be spent in
furtherance of a specified charitable purpose.
All funds are held in the restricted fund category.
1 {c) Incoming Resources
All incoming resources are recognised once the charity has entitiement to the resources. it is probable (more
likely than not) that the resources will be received and the monetary value of incoming resources can be
measured with sufficient reliability.
The inveslment Income i5earnedfrom holding assets forinvestment purposes andincludes dividends and
interest.

1 (d) Resources Expended
The has been no expenditure during this financial period.
All future expenditure will be accounted for on an accruals basis and will be classified under headings
that aggregate all costs related to that Gategory.
1 (e) Fixed Asset Investments
Investments are stated al market value as at the statement of financial position date. The statement of
Financial Activities includes the net gains and losses arising on revaluations and disposals throughout
the period.
1 (fj Realised Gains and Losses
All gains and losses are taken to the statement of Financial Activities as they arise.
1 (g) Going Concern
There are no material uncertainties about the Trust Funds ability to continue as a going concern. The
most significant area of uncertainty that affects the carrying value ofassets held by the Trust Funds
are the level of investment return and the performance ofinvestment markets.
