## Derrycarne Mission Hall AGM for year 1 Jan – 31 Dec 2022

The Charity Trustees of Derrycarne Mission Hall met on the evening of Friday 14 July 2023. The minutes of the previous meeting of 21 March 2022 were passed as an accurate account of preceedings. Those present were Ruth Lavery, Elizabeth Conn, Matthew Lavery and George Conn.

## Spiritual Advancement

1. Children’s meeting: - Ruth Lavery reported a very good series of children’s meetings held weekly throughout the year with very encouraging numbers attending. Special community events were held in the form of a parents day on 10 April in Portadown Faith Mission centre and a carol service on 27 November held as a Drive in in Drumcree Parish church car park

2. Connect Monthly Youth Work: - Matthew Lavery reported encouragement with a great interest being sustained monthly through 2022. Special activities were arranged including a barbecue on Monday 27 June and an outing to The Rink on 27 September. Approx 20 attended regularly which was in increase on previous sessions.

3. Prayer Union: - This continues weekly with a small group of faithful folk praying and showing real interest in the local community.

4. Sunday Night: - This work also continues weekly with a number of different folk who don’t attend on a Tuesday night. The harvest drive in service on Sunday 4 September in the Mission Hall car park was one of the highlights reaching out to the local community.

## Support

Support is ongoing to a number in the local community who remain unwell.

## Finance

Finance was sustained throughout covid and continues very positive. Other missionary charities continue to received financial support. The financial report was somewhat different this year because of an insurance claim mentioned below.

## Practcal

1. After a water leak from the heating system was detected, the building was out of use from July 2022 until January 2023. A large amount of work was carried out to rectify the damage resulting in an insurance claim of just over £40k. As the real cause of the initial problem remains unclear, we trust there will be no further problems.

2. During the year the Nationwide Building Society were no longer able to supply banking facilities so this account was closed and a new account opened in Danske Bank.

3. Mention was made of the tarring of the car park and it was concluded this was just a reasonable job. It was not decided not to reapproach the contractor at this stage.

4. Our solicitor indicated the title deeds could be viewed on the Land Registry website if desired and a hard copy was not to hend.

5. It was highlighted that the fire extinguishers were due for servicing.

This being all the business, the meeting concluded with a time of prayer, when those present participated.
