The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2022.
Dii'ectors
Officers of the charitable company, known as direcloi's for the purpose of coinpany law aiid trustees for the pui'pose of
charity law, who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page l.
Members of the charitable company guarantee to contribute an amount nol exceeding £1 to the assets of the charitable
company in the evenl of winding up.
Charitable objects
The charitable company was established to advance and to pi-omote Ihe presei'vation and protection of liealth amongst
children in the Gortin area of Co Tyrone. This is done by Ihe provision of play facilities and I'ecreation activities in the
interests of social welfare with the object of enhancing the education and development of the childi'en without distinctions
of sex, race, political, religion or other opinions. Tlie charitable company benefits tlie public by pi-oviding a high standard
of pi'eschool education for children below the complusory school age.
The company is a registered charity with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland since 15 April 2020 under
registration number NIC107314.
Organisational structure
The trustees meet regularly, administer the charity and make all policy decisions.
Review of activities and achievements
The directors are pleased with the number of children availing of the facilities dui'ing the year and the level of aclivilie5
has retiirned lo pre covid posltion.
Reserves
The results for the year are set out on page 5. The puiposes of the ￿ndS are outlined in the notes to the financial
statements.
Voluntcers
The charitable company is grateful foi. the unstinting efforts of its directors and other volunteers who have continually
supported the activities aiid management of the charitable company throughout the year. As indicated in note l O to tlie
financial statenients, the directors wei'e not in I'eceipt of any remuneration nor I'eiinbursement of expenses in i-espect of
tl)eir services during tlie yeai..
Taxation
The charitable company is accepted as a charity by HM Revenue & Customs under reference XRI 9021 and thei'efore is
exempt from corpoi?tion tax.

We report on the financial statements of Rascals Community Playgroup for the year ended 31 August 2022 which
comprise the slatement of financial activities, the balance sheet and the related notes.
Respective responsibililies of trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees (and also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for
the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of Companie5 Act 2006. Having satisfied
ourselves that the charilable company is not subject to audit under company law, and is eligible for independent
examination, it is our I'espon5ibility to:.
examine the financial statements undei. section 65 of the Chai'ities Act (Nl) 2008.
follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act (Nl) 2008
state whether particular matters have come to our attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
We have examined your charity financial statements as required under section 65 of the Charities Act (Nl) 2008 and our
examination wa5 car]'ied out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern
Ii'eland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act (Nl) 2008. The examination included a review of the accounliiig
records kept by the charity and a compai'ison of the financial statements presented with those records. It a150 included
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as charity
trustees concerning any such matters.
Our role is to state whether any material matters have come to our attention giving us cause to believe:
l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 3 86 of the Companies Act 2006.
2. That the financial statements do not accord with those accounting I'ecords.
3. That the financial statements do nol comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the Companies
Act 2006 and with the methods and principles of the Charitie5 Staternent of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities prepai'ing their financial statements in accordance with ihe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland.
4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.

We have completed our examination and have no concerns in respect of the matters (l) to (4) listed above and, in

These financial slatemei)ts have been prepai'ed in compliance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice (FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the
Repiibli¢ of li'eland,) and in accordance with the Conipanies Act 2006.
Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Accounting
and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Pi'actice (FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland,)
The charity has taken advantage of Ihe exemption in FRS 102 Section IA froin the requirement to produce a
cashflow statement because it is a sniall chai'ily.
The pi'esentation currency of these financial statements is sterling.
Ineoming i'esoui'ces
All income is included in full in the Statement of Financial Activities when received.
Income fi'om inveslinents is included in the year in which it is received.
3.3. Resources expended
Resources expended are recognised in the year in which they are paid.
3.4. Fund a¢¢ounting
Unrestricted funds relate to general funds which are available for use at Ihe discretion of Ihe ti'ustee5 in
furtherance of the general objective5 of the charity and wliich have not been designated for oihei. purposes.
Restricted funds are funds wliich al'e to be used in accoi'dance with specific I'estrictions inip05ed by donoi's or
which have been I'aised by the charity foi. pailicular pui'poses. The cost of I'aising and adininistering such funds
are charged againsl the specific ￿nd. The aim and iise of each restricted fund is set oiit in the notes lo the
financial statements.

3.6. Taxation
The chai-itible company is I'egistered as a charity for tax purposes under reference NIC107314.
As a chai'itible company, Rascals Community PlaY￿-OUp is exempt froin lax on income and gains falling within
Section 505 of the Taxes Act 1988 oi. Section 256 of the Taxation of Chai'geable Gains Act 1992 to the extent
that these are applied to its cliaritabl¢ objects. No tax chai-ges have therefore arisen for th¢ company for the year
ended 31 August 2022.
