GOVERNANCE & MANAGEMENT
Loughgall Playgroup is run by a Management Committee comprising of volunteers elected annually at the AGM, who receive no salary, along with the Leader and Deputy Leader. The Management Committee meets regularly throughout the year and receives reports from the monthly staff meetings which is chaired by the Playgroup Chairperson. The staff consists of Mrs Lorna Glass (Leader), Miss Stacie Leonard (Deputy Leader) and Mrs Julie Murphy (Playgroup Assistant).
The Management Committee comprises of Mr. Dean Forbes (Chairperson), Mr Philip Murdock (Secretary) and Mrs Kim Coulter (Treasurer).
At each meeting an agenda prepared by the Chairperson is followed. This will include minutes of the previous meeting, a report on any action taken as a result of decision taken at that meeting. A treasurer's report, a leader's report which includes other relevant business.
The annual report and financial report and financial accounts are presented to the AGM held in Oct/Nov each year when all officers are declared vacant and elections take place for membership of the Management Committee. All parents are encouraged to attend.
The meeting area is always held in the Playgroup's setting in Loughgall. Our most recent AGM was held on 14[th] November 2023.
Playgroup made a surplus of £76. It is the charities policy to retain sufficient reserves to ensure continuous operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2008. The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The trustees have had regard to the Public Benefit requirement as stipulated by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.
