comrhunity PORTGLENONE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP & MEN'S SHED Charity Commisston Registration Number: NIC107307 Trustee's Report November 2022- ocfoBER 2023 Our Last AGM, was held on 19th October 2022 when financial and activity reports were presented by the Treasurer and the chair assisted by Andrea Elkin, Unity in the Community Project Officer, PEG. As current chairperson of PCWMS I would like to thank you all for attending this AGM, with a special thanks to Joanne Brown Kerr from Bann Maine West Cluster Group for chairing the meeting. With the 2020-21 Covid restriction5 Still in mind and some members still isolating, activities in the Shed have continued to be curtailed so income has been considerably affected. The Committee continued dealing with ongoing business eg paying invoices, preparing the Shed for activities, tidying up the workshop and storerooms and updating items/equipment as well as liaising with the landlord to carry out repairs. The Inventory has been updated and PAT testing of equipment, which is an annual requirement has all been completed. Following another successful application to Rural Micro Capital Grants scheme, funding was obtained to update and purchase equipment and materials in preparation for a return to further attivities. Line Dancing continued with two classes (Beginners and Improvers) although these were amalgamated in Sept 2023. Upholstery classes have been ongoing with steady attendance and a 5- week Summer Upholstery class was held to facilitate term-time working residents. Yoga/Soundbaths continue with reasonable attendance. again held in the eveningsto capture working residents. Craft classes with Paula continued although as numbers dropped over the year this has been shelved from July 2023. Several other workshops have been organised eg.. Pyrography, Essential Oils, DIY and Wellbeing, Chronic Pain Classes. Power Tools Training. Another successful Beginners, Watercolours Painting was held in August 2023 as well as Ceramics in February and Northern Ireland Women's Network Breast and Cervical Screening in Novemberfacilitated by Unity in the Community funds. As reported last year, a Decluttering Workshop (to Co-ordinate with World th Mental Health Day on 10 October) was also held. very successful fund-raising raffle was held as part of our Christmas Celebration on 15 December 2022, with a very much appreciated and generous donation from ALPS. Members of our committee have attended various workshops to update skills and keep abreast of changes, for example: IMSA Conference in Cookstown,

Apex Advisory Panel, Nl Men's Shed Network most of these via Zoom meetings. Various Committee members (Mike, Drew, Vic & Ann-Marie} have represented the Shed at the Apex Advisory Panel, Nl Men's Shed Network Zoom meetings, Enthuse Fundraising Zoom meetings, after attending Bann Maine West Men's Event at Glarryford in September 22 and follow-up workshop in Oct. Special thanks go to treasurer, Victor Faloon for not only carrying out repairs for participants in the Upholstery & Upcycling classes but also for keeping us on the straight and narrow with finances. Inventory updates and PAT testing were completed with the assistance of committee members Mike Mccarney and Drew McDonald and other non- committee members of the Shed, namely Ernie and Niall. Mike and Drew are also to be commended for doing the prep work for funding from RMCGS. We are indebted to Maureen and Ann-marie for updating the Facebook Page (and recently Instagram) on a regular basis aided by Robert's computer skills. Mike and Drew have, and continue to. represent the Shed at many face-to-face and Zoom meetings, taking an active role in promoting the Shed and it5 activities. The Chairperson thanked everyone involved for supporting the Shed so far- for their continued hard work, perseverance, and resilience and we all look forward to further prosperity and developments in 2023-24.
