## Trustee report for Ballymoney u3a 2023/2024 

Ballymoney u3a is a charity registered with the Charities Commission for Northern Ireland having the Registered Charity Number 107294-0. 

The organisation membership is open to all those who live in the Ballymoney area and are either retired or semi-retired.  Furthermore, it is a non-religious and non-political group and is open to anyone regardless of sex, racial group, ethnic origin, marital status and those suffering from any disability. 

We are an organisation based solely on volunteers as regards our activities, i.e. ‘by the members, for the members’.  None of those involved in the organisation of activities or in management of the group receive any financial benefit from the contribution they make. 

During the Covid epidemic we had to adhere to government  requirements  and suspend our activities.  Since then we have been able to re-establish many of the activities and interest groups as well as adding a few new ones.  Numbers attending have gradually increased and are now at last back to pre-covid levels.  Membership has continued to grow at a modest rate and as we enter our 10th year we are in a healthy state. 

Becoming a member of this organisation enables people to participate in a range of activities and to meet others with whom they will be able to enjoy time and as our mission statement says ‘learn, laugh, live’. 

We look forward with confidence to the year ahead and intend to continue to provide opportunities for all who wish to get involved.
