The Directors and Trustees present their report and the unaudited accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Structure, goveman¢e and management
The charity is an incoFpJrated body arml is under the o)ntrd of Ihe Directors and Truslees as detsiled out in the
charity constitution. The charity is recognised as a charity under the Chanty Commission for Northem Ireland as at
the date of registrakn'on being the 6 Febfuary 2019.
Organisation
The Directors and Truslees who have served during the year are detsiled out on page 3. The Directors and Truslees
are expected to play several key rc4es in Ihe njnning of the tharity including fvndraising, govemance, financ4al
budgeting and auditing, evaluation and assessment of the organisatson's mission and strategic goals, resource
devdopment, public Fdicy and adv(racy, and marketing and communicat¥)n,
Public Benefrt
The directors and Trustees believe that both the purposes arxl the activities undertaken In this last financial year
dearfy satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement
Funds have been ral￿d from small Irusts and foundations in UK, churches and individuals. Advocacy has
continued in the UK thr(xJgh faiih gfOUPS and interested parties allhough fundraising acttvÉti'es have been (xjrtailed
due to the Covid pandemic lockdown.
Work in the eastem part of the Democrth'c Republic of Congo has teen curlailed due to contsnued ethnic viclence
and insecurity. With the a[rn￿ inlerventsons of the armies of Kenya and Uganda in support of the national amiy,
there is the danger of Increas￿ military aclivity. However. In spite of these d￿cUIts.es, various CI-UK funded prryects
have C￿tinUed such ag the hvo pnmary schools, the counsdling cenlre, the Mangina trade scFiTh)I, and the
Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo IUCBC). A camws-wide clean water system has been completed al UCBC
with a deep well water pump. Land has been purchased for the Mangina trade schod wFth money from the Bob
McAllister Memonal Fund.
Statement of Public Benefit
The chan'ty is organised and shall be operated exdusNely for charitable, scients'fic. literacy, gjucatson aNI religious
purposes and lo foster the prevention of cruelty lo children, gender abuse and actively support environmental
protection. These benefits are evidenced by regdar and substsntsl suptM)r( finan¢ial and practical for a number
of key projects. Currenlty the Charty is aclivety engaged in develwng a trade school In addition lo continued
support of La Charité primary school and the UCBC university. The chartbes beneficianes are all those whose needs
bring them within the ambit of the charity's support. Any pnvate benefit is incidenlal and necessary lo ensure the
organisation achieves ils purFose. AJI funds recewed by the charity shall be dedicated and invested solely for such
pury)oses.
Aims and Objectives
The vision of the charity is lo model, nurtsjre and shape an authentic cotnmunity of Chrisfs folbwers whose calling is
to transfom society in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The charity hopes to train and develop strong indigenous
leaders to transform their communitses in their nakn'on of Congo by building civil society on Christsan principles of
socials lustr.￿ for the common g(xxJ.
The over811 wrpose of Congo Inib'ab've UK is the transfomation of the Demccrabc Republic of Congo through holisb'c
devdopment of leaders who bring hope and healing to individuals, communrLies and Ihe nalron.

Flnancial Review and Reserves
The principle sources of incoffle are mainly from grfts and donatsons. The annual accounts show a surplus for the
year of £8,634. The tsustees still believe that the charity is in a 9)(xl financial position. The Directors and Trustees
will continue to aclively seek financial suprK)rt in order to comrnen* new projects in the Democratsc Republic of
Congo.

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 Decemter 2024, vthich are set out on pages 8 ÉO 13.

As the charity's directors and truslees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in a¢0)rdan￿ with the
Companies Act 2006. Having been satisfied that the chanty is not subject to audit under company law, and is eligible
for independent examiiatton, it is my understanding to:

I have examined your charity accounts as required under sedion 65 of the Charities Act and my examinallon was
carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Chaiily Commission for Northern Ifeland under
section 6519llbl of the Charities ACL
My Examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the chanty and a o)mparison of the accounts
presented with those records.11 also included consideration of any unusual ttems or disdosures in the accounts, and
seeking explanations from you as charity directots and trustees COn￿ming any such matters.

Principal accounting pollcies
The financial statements have been p￿pared in accffdance appli12ble Accounting Stsndards in the United lfjngdom and the
Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008. A summary of the more important accounting policies, vthich have been applied
consistenuy, is set out below.
Basis of accounting
The financial stalemenls are prepared in accordance ￿th the histori￿1 ￿st Convention modified by the revaluatIc￿ of certain fixed
assets.
Taxation
The chanty is exempl from tax on its charitable activib'es.
Restricted Funds
Restncled funds are accounted for in accordan￿ with the particular tenTh of trust arising from the expr￿ or implied wishes of the
donors in so far as these are intended to be binding on Ihe charity. Where such wishes are not intended lo be binding, they are
taken into account and recognised in appropnately designated funds.
Unrestricted Free Reserves
Free Reserves represent amount which afe expendable at the dIs￿￿on of the trustees in furtherance of the objectives of the
charity and which have not been designated for any other PUfFose. Such fvnds may be held in order lo finance working capital or
capital expenditure.
Incoming Resources
Voluntary income or capital is induded in the Statement of Financial Activities vthen the charity is legalty entitled to it, its financial
value can be quantified wlh feasonable certainty and there is reasonable certainty of its ultimate receipt. Enlillement lo legacies is
considered established when Ihe charity has been notified of a distribulion to be made by the executors. Income ￿ceiVed in
advance of due performance under a contract is accounted for as deferred income until earned. Grants for activib'es are
recognised as income when the related crmdib'ons for legal enb'llemenl have been met. Al other income is accuinted for on an
accrual basis.
Resources Expended
Al resources expended are accounted for on an accrual basis. Charitable ath'vikn'es include costs of services and grants, support
costs and depreaal1￿ on related assets. Costs of generatiThJ funds similarly indude furKlraisiTVJ activities. Non -stsff costs not
attributed lo one category of activity are allocated or apportioned pr¢iral lo the slaffing of the relevant service. Finance, HR and
administrative staff costs are directy attribulable to individual activitses by objective. Govemance o)sts are those ass(Liated with
constitutional and statutory requirements.
