## Silver Tones 2023

Silver Tones have had a busy year, practising each week in preparation for our singing engagements in Fermanagh and beyond.

Monday night is ‘choir night’ when we meet, have a chat and get down to work, learning new songs and rehearsing them until we are confident in singing them from memory. We have many laughs along the way!

We are grateful to the two churches in the village for allowing us to use their premises for our practices.

In 2023, we had seventeen engagements - singing in seven different churches, providing after dinner entertainment for Rotary events, background music for Christmas shoppers, taking part in Christmas tree festival and organising our own concert. We were pleased to be able to make substantial donations from our concert funds to our local South West Acute Hospital and to Jengana, a charity working in Kenya.

While we aim to improve our singing and become more adventurous with our musical arrangements, we recognise that singing and particularly being part of a choir, is beneficial in so many ways, both physically and emotionally. Members of the choir have spoken of how they have experienced this.

As choir director I appreciate the dedication and loyalty of each of the members and also of our accompanist, Ruth Coulter who has been a great support from the outset.

We plan to take some time to add to our repertoire for 2024 and are looking forward to many dates in our Silver Tones diary.
