**Purposes:** The purpose of the Scholarship shall be to enable members (to be selected from time to time by the Committee) of the Nursing or Midwifery professions who are resident in, being taught in or working in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, to study advances in the health and social care field and to pass on the benefit of such study to the public and the health and social care community.
