The Trustees. Report contains the information required to te provided in the Trustees, Annual Report under the
Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI gutdelines. The trustees of the charity are also charity trustees for the
purpose of charity taw and under the chaiity's constituti¢Jn are known as members of the board of trustees.

Objectives
To promote for public benefit, the prolection, preservab'on and improvement of the physical environment in Northern
Ireland through ourfive main categories.. Best Kept ToMis, VIHages, Housing Areas. Health￿re Facilities and Schools.
To enr￿￿[age civic pride in all the communities within the five ¢ategorie$ . thus Nnprovin9 their local area. They a
impartially judged using set criteria wth the aim of beiTU awarded the -Best Kept- irtle eath year. The awards create
great local interest in all the partiopating communittes txeatirKJ extensNe coverage in all weekty and daily press.
Working wrth the support of local councils. the abyards recognise and reward Northem IrelarKI's best community
enwronmental projects including the promotion of recycling and conservation of resour￿$. Civic pride is encouraged
and communities are motivated to make the most oftheir cMJtdoor spaces and built environmenL
The competition encourages voluntary partFcipalion to encourage deanliness of streets Ind￿lIr￿j the absence of litter,
fly posting, graffib.. vandalism and dog fouling. care and presentation of natural environment and open spa￿$ including
new ideas to promote tsjnservation. The ￿n￿ue nalure of the Best Kept Awards is to challeroes local communits.es to
Cowoperale with councils in improving their environment. thus offering samngs to ￿uncIlS and rate payers.
We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commkssion's general gUKlan￿ on public tenefit when
rewewing our aims and obiectives and in planning our fvture activities.

A wider economic benefit to Northem I￿land'S economy is through attra¢Xir@ tourists to towns and villages that are
eXt￿melY attractive. well maintained and nicely presented.
The Best Kept Awards prcgramme continues to offer a long tern rM)5rtive impad for the enmronment. It is an
organisalion that delivers an important ￿MMunity based environmental messag8 throughout the year and acfOSS the
prownce, it plays a major role in the lives of the residents of many communits"es. Children from a very young age get
involved. it is important that children who are our cibzens of tcrfjay, and more espeoally, of the future become more
aware of the enwronment and 5ts needs in whth they live. It also offers opportunty for healthy exercise in fresh air
and provides activty suitable for the kss able.
The Best Kept Avmrds help develop that sense of pride in those who tske part. and this of course is a very posibve
move forward in the protedtors aThJ improvement of ourenwrt)nrnent. The competstion provides a positive contribution

Flnanclal Results
At the end of the financial year the charity has assets of £69.078 (2022 - £80.757) and liabilities of £1.314 (2022 -
£1,194). The net assets of the charity have decreased by £(11.799).
