In January the Tn￿tee$ were saddened by the death of their esteemed Chainnan, Mr Ronnie Stinson. This year has been very disruptive with the onset of the Coronavirns Virus and the eventual shut down in March with Covid 19. Portadown FC youth section with over 300 young players continued to flourish, offering coaching and tnatch play weekly up until March. During the rest of the year they adh¢r¢d to the government guidelines and unfortunately all training and matehplay was suspended. During this period, to help the children and their parents cope with isolation, the coaches ran weekly s¢ssions via Zoom which included quizzes and awaTeness courses. Portadowi FC female youth worked closely with the male section to adhere to all the guidelines set out by the government. The Trust was successful in being awarded grants throughout the year. The first was from the Probation Board of Northern Ireland which allowed Shamrock Park to continue to operate as a venue for the offenders to ¢Otnplete their community service. This was intemjpted for several months with the shur do￿1. Two further grants were awarded:. I. ABC Council grant 2. Co-operation Ireland grant These grants allowed volunteers ￿rythin the organisation to identify people in the local community who were struggling both emotionally and financially due to isolation and supply them with community packs which consisted of food and household items. It is hoped that nonnal business of the Trust will be able lo resun]e during September.
