Basls of examiner's statement I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 6519llbl of the Charities Act. The examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters, My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention 8iving me cause to believe: l. Anne Doherty Ann Molloy Brenda Shirton Margaret Williams Monica Lewis Kathleen McLean The Charity was formed on 1 July 2019. The Charity is governed by a constitution. The Charity is constituted as an unincorporated association. Purposes The charitable purposes of the charity are to promote social inclusion among women and their families who are socially excluded from society, or parts of society (hereinafter called 'the beneficiaries,) in the West Belfast area and its environs (hereinafter called 'the area of benefit,) by the provision of education, advice, training, recreation facilities and leisure time interests, general support and by any other means as the trustees shall consider appropriate to improve the conditions of the lives of the beneficiaries. For the purpose of this clause 'socially excluded, means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors.. unemployment., financial hardship. youth or old age., ill health (physical or mental),. poor educational attainment, relationship or family breakdown; or due to their social and economic circumstances. Charitable ActivitieslAchievements Our Core funding through the Department for Communities, CED programme supports us in achieving the above purposes and to fundraise for charitable activities. Voices Women's Group In 2022123 Voices Women's Group ran a programme of activities to advance education, improve health and wellbeing, build skills and confidence and promote the active role of women in community development.. Weekly drop-in sessions giving local women the opportunity to meet in a safe and supportive space. A Mindfulness programme funded by Solace's Empowering Women Fund promoting good mental health and wellbeing. A Health and Wellbeing programme funded by the Community Development and Health Ne￿ork'S Building the Community-Pharmacy Partnership programme to promote relationships between local pharmacist and group memb8rs through workshops exploring topics relevant to group members. A Good Relations programme funded by The Executive Office's Central Good Relations Fund building respect between our communities. A Good Relations programme funded by the Department for Foreign Affairs & Trade's Reconciliation Fund, also building respect between our communities. A Yoga Therapy programme funded by the National Lottery's Community Fund. Publlc Beneflt In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year, the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity's purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries. Financial Review In the financial year 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023, the charity had income of £54,287 and expenditure of £53,433.
