PUBLIC BENEFITS The adoption and maintenance of a spiritual, moral and social framework that encourages people to be good citizens in their local community and for the advancement of religion. Pastoral care is provided for these people and others outside the congregation as the trustees see fit. including those who are ill. in hospital. unable to attend Church, and have been bereaved. The Church seeks by the grace of God to help people of all ages in our community and further afield. Delivery is facilitated by public access to all our Services and attivities through use of notice boards, printed materials, press advertisements, website, social media and by personal invitations. Our services and programmes are open to all section of the community. SUMMARY OF THE CHARITIES MAIN AcfiviTIES The congregation meets for worship every Sunday morning and evening and visitors are very welcome. We are a child friendly Church providing creche and children's Church for younger children. We hold a range of activities during the week which are open to all sections of the community including: Sunday School. Junior Bible Class, Lifeliners. Youth Club, Mid-week Bible Study and Prayer Meeting and a Ladies Fellowship. MISSION AND OUTREACH The congregation held various events to make further contact with the local community during the year. In June we held a "Holiday Bible Club" This was a week-long event for boys and girls of Primary School age, which was well supported by the local community. We also held a Church BBQand family fun night which was open to all the community. We held a Gospel Tent mission which was well attended by the community and from those further afield. We also held a ladies bring a friend night and a special afternoon meal forthose of the 60+ age group. Our Youth Club concluded with a weekend residential in Murlough House, Dundrum, Co Down for young people of secondary school age from across the community. We engaged the services of 'Magherafelt Out & About community transport, to facilitate transport over the weekend. The weekend consists of various indoor & outdoor activities. the development of social interattive skn"Ils, through team building events. We hold missionary meeting and support a number of missionaries and missionary organisation both locally and across the world. Our car park was made available to two local families who had been bereaved. to enable car5 to be safely parked during the wakes and funerals. We distribute periodically invitations to homes throughout the community. We seek to reach people wtth the Gospel, as well as nurturing those who profess falth in Jesus Christ, through preaching and teaching of the Word of God as contained in the Bible and through pastoral support and home visits.
FINANCIAL POSITONSATTHE END OF 31 DECEMBER. 2023 The Financial statement for Magherafelt Independent Methodist Church shows that income for the charity was made up mainly from voluntary gifts and donations as well as making use of "Gift Aid" and bank interest. These funds are used to maintain our building, fund activities and support Christian workers at home and abroad. TRUSTEES REGARD TO PUBLIC BENEFITS All the Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's public benefit requirements and are confident that Magherafelt Independent Methodist Church fully satisfied this requirement throughout 2023 through its activities.
