Trustees Report of Ballysillan Independent Methodist Church
Ballysillan Independent Methodist Church is a member of The Fellowship of Independent Methodist Churches. It is governed by the Constitution of the said denomination as reviewed and accepted in 2014.
We present this report of the trustees of the activities from 1[st] January 2024 – 31 December 2024.
Charitable Purposes
The churches charitable object is principally found on the advancement of religion, which is recognised by the Charity Commission as a charitable purpose having public benefit.
The principal object of the charitable purpose is promoting and advancing the Christian faith as stated in Chapter 2of the Constitution of the Fellowship of Independent Methodist Churches. There is no harm flowing from our purpose. There is also no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Our beneficiaries are the general public in and around North Belfast where our church is located and visitors from further afield.
Charitable benefit
A summary of the Main Activities to Further its Purposes for Public Benefit
The church holds weekly Sunday services for both regular attenders and visitors so that all can benefit from the teaching of the Word of God and fellowship together. A weekly prayer meeting is held and is open for all. Special clubs are held for children. These benefit all children across the community. During the summer we hold a Holiday Bible Club for children of Primary School age and all are made very welcome. For the ladies there is a monthly meeting which provides a social and religious programme for all who wish to attend. The church is involved in supporting Christian and humanitarian work in Romania and other overseas countries. They organise congregational outings for spiritual fellowship and social interaction. We also have various activities at Christmas and Harvest time and everyone is made welcome across the community. Pastoral ministry and outreach is given by home and hospital visitation to all in the congregation and wider community.
