ANNUAL REPORT FOR CHARrrIES COMMISSION
N. IRELAND APRIL 2022 - MARCH 2023
A major development within our small community was our return to
face-to-face Meetings on 5th June 2022, after a two-and-a-quarter
year absence. We have met in person on the f irst Sunday of each
month, and continued our zoom Meetings on the 3rd & 5th Sundays.
Thereby catering for those whose health issues prevent their
attendance in person. as well as to those livin9 f urther af ield who
might wish to join us in worship.
Few in number though we may be, we played a hugely active role in
hosting over 50 panels of the "Loving Earth Exhibition" in the Play
House Gallery - each panel creatively hand sewn/embroidered, and
illustrating somethin9 that would be lost through our mistreatment
of the natural world. Derry s Mayor was the guest speaker at the
of f icial openin9 and the Exhibition ran f rom 4 - 9 April. It was a
truly inspirational event. highlighting to the public, the Society of
Friends concern for the climate crisis we face.
A small number of visitors attended our in-person Meeting f or
Worship, as conf idence began slowly increasing in attendin9
gatherings outside the immediate family.
We supported the work of Quaker Service, Irish Quaker Faith in
Action, Ramallah School, and a local food bank in Derry.
